I read this book a long time ago in high school… I don’t have a lot of time to read anymore so I listened to it to and from work. Excellent story very important for our times… What book will you be?

It would be great if more people read it and kept an open mind. Many wouldn’t believe what is written here. Many will nod knowingly or at least agree. Good story…interesting insight.

Very interesting wide lens view

This is a very well researched wide lens view of an important subject about which so many should know. Seemingly explaining the present and potentially the future by examining the past is so important.

I may not even finish...

I have long been a fan of reading "the Killing" books...and I own this one in print, however, a long commute often leaves me too tired to sit and read, and I felt the time might be put to better use listening to it. UGH...Bill O'Reilly's voice is like nails on a chalkboard. I should have read more reviews! Totally mispronouncing German is somewhat understandable, but not when you write such an important piece. Mispronouncing English might be the last straw. He shouts, breaks up sentences in a perplexing manner, and seems almost uncomfortable by having to sit and read his work out loud. I might dig out the book and take up from where I left off in the audio version, even though I know how it ends for both Eichmann and Mengele.

Well told… Well written… Well documented

I am a history buff and teacher. I’m also a woman…and I lived in Austria during college. Stories…or rather, histories, fascinate me not only for the knowledge content, but also to learn more about the human experience. This is a fabulous recollection of what some women were not only willing but able to do in an effort to save the world from the Nazis and the fascists. We should have more movies and books about these real life heros!

Important history…strange story

I liked this book…but appreciated the history far more than the story. I wanted to punch “LuLu girl” several times…but also strange twists at the end. Well read…good pace.

Good story!

After having lived in Vienna in my college years… I love listening to stories where I can picture places I’ve been… Streets down which I’ve walked. I love historical fiction… And this is a good story… No, make that a great story! Yes, the narrator sometimes mispronounces the German… But in reality… So do the Austrians! ❤️🤍❤️
I wish more of this authors books were on audio as I have more time to listen and less time to sit and read these days.

I started with The German Wife… so this is my second title from this author. Good story! Good book! I was hoping it would end up the way it did!
