Thank you Mel for sharing such a simple method. It helps me deal with my internal blocks: fear at a dentist, inconvenience to say goodbye to someone who doesn’t fit anymore in my life, or just go to a Yoga class when I’m exhausted. I feel like now I’m equipped with a powerful tool. I’m going to try it out again and again.

This epic novel opens a door to the world of botany, of being an ugly but smart female in a world of man, of expeditions and traveling between continents when there were no airplanes, and of viewing the surrounding with serenity despite inner turbulence, I enjoyed every minute of it. great story, wonderful narration. Enjoy.

I've enjoyed it
Revisado: 06-10-14
What made the experience of listening to The Rescue the most enjoyable?
The world created by the author is interesting, the characters are delicate, there are moving moments, and the story is not too sweet.
What other book might you compare The Rescue to and why?
"The longest road" since it was written by the same author. both are very good and enjoyable.
Did the narration match the pace of the story?
Yes, yet sometimes the accent was not clear (I'm not an English native speaker).
If you could rename The Rescue, what would you call it?
Healing for the wounds
Any additional comments?
I recommend it.

Very very good! like a box of chocolate!
Revisado: 05-15-14
What made the experience of listening to The Longest Ride the most enjoyable?
First of all the story: romantic, touching, moving! Then the narration: Ira and Ruth were narrated by Ron McLarty, and Sophia and Luke by January Lavoy, both of them did great work! They made it accurately to the context, and to the text.In addition, my first degree is at Art History, so it was nice to have something in common with Ruth and Sophia. I loved listening to the names of the famous artists, and to feel the appreciation of the author for Art.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Hard to say. I think Ira.He touched my heart.I love listening to old people, they have the wisdom of life, and Mr. Sparks wrote Ira beautifully.
What about Ron McLarty and January LaVoy ’s performance did you like?
As I said, I've enjoyed the narration very very much.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
YES, it did!!I must say one morning, when I was listening, and the story was about something upsetting, I was upset all day, I was really sad for the characters. And towards the end, when the inevitable happened, I even shed tears. Sounds crazy, but I did.
I loved the end of the story very much.
Any additional comments?
I truly recommend this book.an enjoyable experience.Give yourself this lovely present!

Interesting
Revisado: 03-18-13
Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?
Not so sure. This is a very long book. It was written over 20 years, and unfortunately it is a bit shown. Meaning sometimes the descriptions are too long, even boring. I read to the end but only because I've conducted a book club on this book. It was interesting to learn about the People of Mexico, customs, culture etc., but the story itself can be told in much less width - with all the respect to the author, whom I didn't know before, and viewed several YouTube videos following the book - he is a delightful sight.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Happy. Good end. Hope
Have you listened to any of Luis Alberto Urrea’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
Probably yes. I chose this book for its cultural arena - Mexico. I still believe this is one of its strengths. So a movie will add a dimension of views, sights, the food, and the people. I would be happy to see it.
Any additional comments?
I loved the epilog by the author.
