Historia
Mitch's mediocre life has just taken a turn for the worse, so his buddy tries to cheer him up by showing him a secret starship. Unfortunately, everything goes south when hostile aliens arrive. In an effort to save his buddy and the starship from the aliens, Mitch does the obvious thing: he accidentally warps hundreds of light-years away. Marooned in a distant star cluster, Mitch is forced to deal with a snarky teenage AI, a rogue auto-pilot, and a beautiful alien soldier who's ready to steal his ship at any moment—so she can fight an oppressive military faction, of course.

The MC is a bumbling moron
Revisado: 02-17-25
This guy can barely function on earth and is even worse on other worlds. no thinking ahead concidering being in the absolute dark. Lets just ask for space police and leave the ship without considering anything at all. I would of had a thousand questions and concidered gear needed and what the ship may have and not have before even looking for a place to park and shop. comunications would be at the top of the list of questions for the barely helpful AI. finding out everything I can so I'm at least sorta prepared for interacting with an alien species. This is just the first hour of the book and it just gets more ridiculous. sadly as much as I hoped for a fun but intelligent book, it's more geared toward young teens.

Too many inconsistencies.
Revisado: 04-01-24
It's annoying when main characters are supposed to be intelligent but act stupid. Asking stupid questions for stupid Answers. When there's far more important questions to ask is just aggravating. The writer clearly doesn't have any scientific knowledge because There is no air in space for air pockets to surf. Then there's this mixing of metals and minerals to use as a cure all. That's not even scientific, It's on the level of imaginary nonsense. What's next? You gonna introduce magic wands and orks? I could list dozens of issues with this book. It's good for a first time author but they really needs to spend more time polishing before publishing.

Well balanced joy

It has been a minute since I have heard a book I could enjoy as much as this one. Not only did the narrator have such a pleasant voice but his cadence made me feel like I could listen to him say almost anything for weeks. The performance was magnificent and I hope to get my hands on other books that he has narrated. As for the story, I'm Ready for book two. Not once in this entire story did I want to put this book down and take a break. It just had a pace to it that kept me interested. Both the writer of this book and the narrator made everything feel magical and written with true purpose. Thank you for bring this to life. I am seriously looking forward seeing this young man's path written and Read by the best.

From the beginning I enjoyed trying to figure out where it all would lead. Not once was I correct. I really enjoyed the confusing power structure that eventually started to make sense before too long. The Qi and Dantian building was structurally different from any other book I've read. The characters were unique and interesting. I grew attached to a couple of them and hope to see book 2 come out sometime soon. 21 hours of story telling made me happy.

Historia
The world teeters on the brink of destruction. The people who should be saving the Earth ignore Jason Asano's warnings and choose to loot the house as it burns down around them. He lacks the strength to save the world himself, but resolves to do it anyway, impossible be damned. The impossible, in this case, means seizing a power that no mortal should touch. It's a choice from which there is no turning back, and marks Jason's first step into a wider cosmos that he is not yet ready to face. Holding the fate of two worlds in his hands, Jason must decide for himself what home truly means.

slow and tedious but still interesting
Revisado: 01-22-23
I'll start with the bad. much of what is involved with ranking up is not matching or consistent. despite Jason fighting battle after battle with monsters and beings that outrank him he ranks up at such a slow pace that even the people he brought in after he ranked up are catching up to him and I find it disturbingly inaccurate considering how very little fighting his partners do. I understand the author wanted to keep Jason grounded and not surpassing others but it's kind of inevitable considering how much more he goes through. let's not forget that his training regiment is far more impressive than his cohorts as well. Gary for example spent the better portion of 2 years drinking his life away and still managed to get to Silver despite not fighting monsters or anyone for that matter. I just believe there's some serious rank disparities. for example the two weeks he spent in the dimension fighting monsters in order to claim it for himself so that he can convert it while his best friend was relaxing at the cloud house. consistently he fights and fights and fights While others tackle politics and building. get somehow they managed to rank up at the same rate he is and I found that rather disturbing. I mean by now you would think he would already be gold considering how much he went through.
there was far more than I'd liked about this book and it was the politics surprisingly. the politics of the world were so meticulously considered and kept up. it felt important to know that the world continued to change and it matched previous explanations. it was very consistent and it felt right despite it being horrible. how is very sad when he lost his girlfriend, his brother and his friend. I honestly thought things were going to go a whole other way and it kept me on my heels and at the edge of my seat for hours. kind of feel bad that things went dirty for kaito and Jason's girlfriend. I just felt wrong. I honestly thought Jason would get the chance to bring his girlfriend to this other world and experience all these new things alongside his family but it took a crazy turn. I can't say I'm not disappointed but at the same time I'm glad the book is not very predictable. it certainly throws you off and keeps you interested.

a very beautifully written and entertaining story.
Revisado: 01-15-23
I honestly didn't know what to think until I started with book one and it was a slow start. I enjoyed book one enough to reach for book two when I finished. I am absolutely in love with the story and I can't stop. I have to know what happens next. I've been through a lot of fantasy novels in the last couple of years and none of them were as intelligently written or nearly as fun as this. the witty quips and absolutely Insanity it's just so fun. the character is real and compelling. his character Arc has taken some wild turns. however none of those twists and turns were outside the bounds of this world that he lives in. not once in book one or book two did I feel like the author took the easy route. the author wrote and weaved a story that kept a realistic pace without going so slow that you're bored. Magic is interesting and he really has to work for his ranks. unlike many other fantasy stories the character isn't completely overpowered and everything falls into place exactly as planned. sometimes he trips and he gets up. he's not an idiot by any stretch of the imagination and I find that fascinating. too many fantasy characters proclaimed to be intelligent but they don't come off as intelligent because they're written by authors who don't think or understand how intelligent people think. see he doesn't just have a high IQ he has a high EQ and that makes him dangerous. he understands people not just makes him that much more dangerous. I honestly can't wait to see how far The Story Goes. I honestly hope that by the end of the series he has become a deity of his own world.

even though the science is off I enjoyed it. I mean for real when she's teaching her class and she says if we came from monkeys. no scientist is going to say it that way. we didn't come from monkeys we evolved alongside them we have a common ancestor. common ancestor doesn't mean that we came for monkeys. what that means is further back in the evolutionary tree there was a Divergence and monkeys evolved separately but had shared genetics. we evolved in a different path. anyway

a comedic Joy wrapped in a fascinating sci-fi.
Revisado: 08-20-22
I have never read anything else by this author and if I were to judge all future books based on this I would give them five stars as well. I have a hard time finding sci-fi novels that fit a very tight criteria. and I mean there has to be a compelling main character and this book gave me three fun and amusing characters. other criteria like not going overpowered on the technology there must be a struggle on some level. one of the most important criteria for me is that it not be the same cookie cutter I tripped over a spaceship and found myself in a mess not of my making. This on the other hand had a far funnier storyline and plot but it was manageable within reason. too many books find themselves in this never-ending struggle that wears you down. however this Trio not only struggled but did all they can within reason and did it realistically. none of them are super genius and they made mistakes but they did find a way through the mess threatening Earth.

I only got into trucking because my granddad was a trucker, and he was the best damn person I ever met. I'd always thought I was your average dude with an 18-wheeler and an addiction to energy drinks, but it turns out there might be something more brewing in my blood. Now instead of some desert highway, I'm stuck in a whole new realm, and it's full of worm cults, actual lot lizards, one seriously smoking catgirl mechanic, and enough sand and bloodthirsty creatures to make me think I took a wrong turn somewhere. But I might be able to add a whole new career path to my resume.

pleasurable read and listen
Revisado: 05-18-22
really enjoyed the story and the characters. there were some gaping problems but overall it still worked. how does a girl who spent your whole life washing clothes wrangling buckets of milk learn as much as she did? she was like a zombie. She hadn't spoken to many in years but out of nowhere she blossomed into a badass in a matter of hours. she knew how to read English, operate a firearm well enough to sniper a motorcycle. It makes the truck capable of hopping between dimensions more believable than her origin story. I really do enjoy the characters though. I can't say I would complain if I were in his shoes.

unique world and magical mechanics
Revisado: 01-09-22
I greatly enjoyed this book and of course no matter how good or bad the book is Jessica Threet makes it better. Gabriel Michael did a fine job as well. there were a couple of times when he started a new recording session and his voice changed and is inflections were off but for the most part he did a great job. no real complaints since Gabriel Michael has the right voice and skills for powerful male characters. there was great consistency all the way through the book as far as the storyline and character development goes. there were a couple of moments that I was confused on what was going on but it all pulled together at the end. I honestly look forward to a sequel to this and Hope they're both Jessica and Gabriel will be available to continue.
