Historia
It's 1920, and Christmas is coming. Major Lennox finds a body on his doorstep - why on his doorstep? Was it to do with the Countess? Was it about the ruby necklace? Lennox goes to Melrose Court, home to his uncle, Lord Melrose, to uncover the mystery. But then, the murders begin, and it snows, and it all becomes very complicated.

Witty and sardonic
Revisado: 05-21-20
A witty and sardonic look into the lives of the British landed gentry after the First World War. Intertwined with a good old English mystery, an unwitting hero, touches of whimsy, and superlative narration make this a great listen. Regrettably, Mrs. Menuhin 2nd & 3rd book in this series don’t garner the accolades of the first but are still enjoyable and I am eagerly looking forward to her fourth.

Mr. Jacobi is very disappointing
Revisado: 09-13-19
I have other audiobooks narrated by Mr. Jacobi and have been enthralled. However, in this particular case his voice sounds overworked, strained and hoarse . Therefore it is difficult to listen to the chapters.

Historia
In these pastiches of the sacred writings, written when he was 19 and 20, August Derleth has recreated the London of Sherlock Holmes. It does not matter that the familiar name has become Solar Pons, or that the familiar Baker Street has become Praed Street - something of the nostalgic charm and fascination, of the remembered quickening of the pulse and the familiar settings of the original London of Sherlock Holmes, has been recaptured in these pages. And what intriguing titles there arc to these 12 pastiches, chosen from among a greater number!

Disappointing
Revisado: 08-15-19
Mr, White’s narration is akin to the deliverance of an essay. It lacks the ability to draw in the listener.

Mr. Jacobi is a superlative storyteller and he does so without overwhelming the prose. Holmes and Watson come alive through his narration

Historia
This anthology of rare stories of crime and suspense brings together a selection of rare tales by masters of the Golden Age of Detective Fiction for the first time in book form, including a newly discovered Agatha Christie crime story that has not been seen since 1922. At a time when crime and thriller writing has once again overtaken the sales of general and literary fiction, Bodies from the Library unearths lost stories from the Golden Age, that period between the World Wars when detective fiction captured the public’s imagination.

Historia
A blinding snowstorm - and a homicidal maniac - traps a small party of friends in an isolated estate. Out of this deceptively simple setup, Agatha Christie fashioned one of her most ingenious puzzlers, which in turn would provide the basis for The Mousetrap, the longest-running play in history. From this classic title novella to the deliciously clever gems on its tail (solved to perfection by Hercule Poirot and Miss Jane Marple), this rare collection of murder most foul showcases Christie at her inventive best.

Three Blind Mice has a narrator who must be blind
Revisado: 07-21-19
Joan Hickson’s narrative leaves much to be desired. At times she sounds as though she has marbles in her mouth, or has hit the bottle a little too hard.
