Great Story, Not Great Narration
Revisado: 07-31-24
This is my favorite book in the series and I was excited to hear the audiobook. However, the narration is so breathy, it's distracting. That was disappointing. I just learned to live with it since I like the story so much. Adriana and Roxy are god tier. Bummer the next book in the series has the same narrator.

Ruined by Terrible Narration
Revisado: 06-18-24
I’ve read this before (and the Six Pack series) which I quite liked so I got the audio since it was on sale. Oof! This was probably one of the worst narrations I’ve ever heard. It’s all valley-girl upspeak that doesn’t match any of the characters. It’s cloying and painful to get through.
Skip this terrible audio version and read it instead.

Historia
It's just a small story really, about, among other things, a girl, some words, an accordionist, some fanatical Germans, a Jewish fist-fighter, and quite a lot of thievery. Set during World War II in Germany, Markus Zusak's groundbreaking new novel is the story of Liesel Meminger, a foster girl living outside of Munich. Liesel scratches out a meager existence for herself by stealing when she encounters something she can't resist: books.

An Amazing Performance
Revisado: 06-22-12
I never write reviews, but I felt compelled to share just how wonderful the performance of this audiobook was. Allan Corduner captured each character perfectly. I never lost track of who was speaking. The humor, the heartbreak. It was all there. I don't usually re-read (or re-listen to) books, but I know I'll want to experience this book again.
