I am in bed recovering from COVID. I’m scared, in pain and miserable. Listening to some of my most loved characters going through COVID lockdown gave me a couple hours of much needed levity that I could relate to.

Cliffhanger with no ending

Reputable predictable

The sex scenes are decently written but go like this: hot sex, shower or bath, hot sex, nap while male makes food, repeat with some light plot thrown in for variety. The predictability and repetitiveness of the formula is annoying.

A romantic comedy only because the dialogue is so bad

I laughed and cried during this book, but not for the normal reasons, like it being actually funny or touching. Nope, I laughed and cried because the dialogue and character development was so bad. I almost turned it off several times but was riding in the car and didn’t was to mess with my phone to find a new book.

Amazing

She did it again. This book was sweet, and suspenseful, sad and angry. The use of time was genius, and the points of view gave the story a well rounded feeling without giving anything away. Well Done Mia Sheridan!

Couldn’t make it to the end

The writing is simple and the story contrived. The characters lack true depth. The author tries to make depth by forcing the issues but the dialogue is not believable. Even a great performance couldn’t save the book.

Wow

This book is intense. I couldn’t stop listening and my heart raced the whole time. However, I just couldn’t quite buy the falling in love of the two main characters, it didn’t seem real enough. That is minor, however, compared to most of the plot, which isn’t about the new relationship, but about the past relationship of the male character and his wife. That was amazing!

Unsatisfying

I really like K Bromberg as an author and LOVE Andy Arndt and Joe Arden as performers. The narration was spectacular as usual. However the ending of the book was very unsatisfying, with big gaps in what happened to the various family relationships outside the two main characters. I felt like the book needed at least two more chapters to adequately wrap up the story lines.

Amazing

I was worried that being a new author, J Bengtsson’s series would deteriorate in quality over time. However it has only gotten better!! She is such an amazing author, making her characters realistic in their faults and reactions while being endearing and relatable. This is more than worth the money, as I will listen to it more than once!
