But when he walked in and heard the voice of one of his competitors, all his plans were shot to hell. Harper Denton. She was always on top. In college. First in their class. The narrators are the dynamic duo. The story is very ordinary. Love the beard burn though!

Historia
After a lifetime defining herself in contrast to her mother's "don't ask, don't tell" generation, Lerner finds herself back in her childhood home, not five miles from the mother she spent decades avoiding. When Roz needs help after surgery, it falls to Betsy to take care of her. She expected a week of tense civility; what she gets instead are the Bridge Ladies. Impressed by their loyalty, she sees something her generation lacks. Facebook is great, but it won't deliver a pot roast.

Profound
Revisado: 06-05-17
This story transcended the actual account of the Bridge Ladies of which Betsy's mom was a member. There was an onion peeled back layer by layer, exposing the delicate intricacies of her relationship with her mother, and her mother's pain, secrets and triumphs. The characters are pithy and significant, each with her own story. I'm glad I didn't miss this book because it's a treasure.

Historia
THIRTY DAYS. That’s all Adam Steinbeck demands of his wife. Thirty days in a remote cottage, doing everything he demands, then he’ll sign her divorce papers, give her his half of their company, and walk away. He has 30 days to rediscover the man he once was. The Dominant Master he hid when he fell in love with the woman who would leave him five years later. Diana wants the company they built badly enough to go to the cottage with him. She’ll give him her body, but her heart will never yield. She thinks this is his pathetic attempt to repair their marriage. She’s wrong.

Revisado: 11-11-16
This was a very raw look into the master/sub relationship. I found the character development very well done and the book was certainly very erotic. I was intrigued at the end enough to wait until January for the next in the series, though usually, I hate cliffhangers.

Anne and Marco Conti seem to have it all—a loving relationship, a wonderful home, and their beautiful baby, Cora. But one night, when they are at a dinner party next door, a terrible crime is committed. Suspicion immediately lands on the parents. But the truth is a much more complicated story.

A little too convoluted
Revisado: 11-11-16
This was certainly a thriller, and kept you on the edge of your seat throughout. I found the story a bit too convoluted for my liking but kept you guessing until the end. I disagreed with the comments of a few listeners pertaining to the ending... I found it very clear. The narrator's voice was a bit too "clipped" for my liking but not bad enough as to ruin the book.
Overall, worth the credit.

Historia
Sam and Clementine have a wonderful, albeit, busy life: they have two little girls, Sam has just started a new dream job, and Clementine, a cellist, is busy preparing for the audition of a lifetime. If there’s anything they can count on, it’s each other. Clementine and Erika are each other’s oldest friends. A single look between them can convey an entire conversation. But theirs is a complicated relationship, so when Erika mentions a last minute invitation to a barbecue with her neighbors, Tiffany and Vid, Clementine and Sam don’t hesitate.

Engrossing!
Revisado: 08-26-16
This book grabbed me from the very beginning. I found it interesting the way Moriarty bounced back and forth between POV's of different characters, before and after the "main event" (which I won't spoil). Before, after, before, after... and you are dying to know what happened "The day of the BBQ". I found that the characters were exceptionally well developed. Vid, one of my favourites, had a wonderful voice as portrayed by the excellent narrator. I wanted to get to know him! There were all sorts of twists and turns as the secrets sand frailties of the various characters were slowly revealed. I give this a 5-stars. Well done Liane!

Historia
Every family has its problems. But even among the most troubled, the Plumb family stands out as spectacularly dysfunctional. Years of simmering tensions finally reach a breaking point on an unseasonably cold afternoon in New York City as Melody, Beatrice, and Jack Plumb gather to confront their charismatic and reckless older brother, Leo, freshly released from rehab. Months earlier, an inebriated Leo got behind the wheel of a car with a 19-year-old waitress as his passenger.

Delicious, sad, worth it!
Revisado: 05-02-16
This was an intricately written book about an inherently dysfunctional family, the Plums. Mom is a self absorbed cold fish and all 4 children are left handicapped by the lack of binding and nurturing by their parents. The nest is an inheritance that is supposed to be split among the 4 Plum children. This story is sad yet triumphant, but it appears, as the book progresses, that one member of the family by disappearing, acts as a catalyst for the blooming and maturing of the others. Couldn't stop listening and I must say, this book was a really good listen. Will listen again for sure.

A Heartwarmer!!
Revisado: 04-16-16
This book is written from the perspective of a dog named Enzo. Enzo's loving owner works in. BMW repair garage and as a hobby and passion, drives race cars. Enzo laments the fact that he cannot speak and yet, he soaks up all aspects of human life while making analogies to racing scenarios as they apply to life. This is a heartwarming and sometimes heartbreaking story of a man named Denny. The survival and triumph of the human spirit is the gift the story reminds the reader of. I will read this often, especially when my spirits are sagging. Thank you Garth Stein- this book made my day.

Interesting....
Revisado: 03-16-16
The characters were interesting in this story. Eric, Chloe's boyfriend, does a 180, and AJ, a seemingly U.S. born drummer turns out to be something somewhat different... no spoilers.
Chloe knows from the beginning, that despite AJ scowling at her, she is deeply drawn to him and pursues her heart's desire. There are interesting twists in this story that keep you interested. Not a smutty book at all. It's actually a beautiful love story. There is a cliffhanger at the end which is a bit predictable and presumably will be unveiled in book 3 in this series. On the whole, well-written and an enjoyable read.

Interesting fantasy!
Revisado: 02-08-16
This book is about women who are lacking in self-confidence especially where their sexuality is concerned, and how, through the exclusive S.E.C.R.E.T. organization, they have the ability to pick 9 sexual fantasies and live them out to learn the lessons that will help them realize their full potential as women, and more importantly, as human beings.
Quite a trip. Tastefully done.
