Historia
The superbly researched, spellbindingly told story of athlete, showman, philosopher, and boundary breaker Leroy “Satchel” Paige. Few reliable records or news reports survive about players in the Negro Leagues. Through dogged detective work, award-winning author and journalist Larry Tye has tracked down the truth about this majestic and enigmatic pitcher, interviewing more than 200 Negro Leaguers and Major Leaguers, talking to family and friends who had never told their stories before, and retracing Paige’s steps across the continent.

Absolutely fantastic book. A must listen!
Revisado: 11-20-15
This book was extremely well researched and written and the reading of the book was very enjoyable to listen to. This book went into so much detail about not only Satchel's life but the negro leagues as well. It painted a great picture of not only the great career he had over 40 plus years of playing baseball but of the kind of person he was as well. For any fan of baseball and the history of baseball this book is a must read/listen.

Historia
The best stories about one of baseball's most colorful teams - updated to include their recent glory years. Since 1883, the Philadelphia Phillies have been up, down, and all around. Most recently, thanks to Charlie Manuel, the Phillies have become a National League powerhouse, with four NL East titles, two pennants and the 2008 World Series championship to show for it. In Tales from the Philadelphia Phillies Dugout Rich Westcott takes listeners behind the scenes into the glorious, quirky, and victorious stories that make this team the legend it is.

Enjoyable for the average Phillies fan
Revisado: 11-06-15
Overall the book was pretty good. Definitely enjoyed the early history of the Phillies the most, wish he would have gone into greater detail about the present day Phillies, didn't have many stories for the present day Phillies either. Not the greatest written book, structure wise, that I've ever read or listened to, but was entertaining enough to listen to on the way to and from work. Would definitely recommend if you're looking a book as a Phillies fan, but it's not going to be something you tell people is a must read, or in this case listen. Also, didn't care for the author's obvious bias on certain baseball traditions, such as the All Star game.
