Historia
Every generation, a journalist has looked deep into the heart of the nuclear military establishment: the technologies, the safeguards, the plans, and the risks. These investigations are vital to how we understand the world we really live in—where one nuclear missile will beget one in return, and where the choreography of the world’s end requires massive decisions made on seconds’ notice with information that is only as good as the intelligence we have. Pulitzer Prize finalist Annie Jacobsen’s Nuclear War: A Scenario explores this ticking-clock scenario.

Disturbing, yet I couldn't stop listening

Great! Everyone should read this book. Unfortunately that probably will not happen. Civilization's loss.

Brings Back Some Great Memories
Revisado: 02-14-22
Though I lived in North Orange County, I hung out in Laguna Beach starting in High School, first for the beaches & body surfing, then for hash and acid. I could pull up in front of Taco Bell and there would be 5 people at my car windows trying to sell me some dope, but 4 were trying to rip me off. But I could always spot the one with the Brotherhood connections that was legit. I loved the primo afgan hash, and the orange sunshine was a great moneymaker to finance my other desires. The Mystic Arts was much more than another head shop and it was sad that the city fathers burned it to the ground. I still go to Laguna, though now it is more for the dining than the dope. The author brought back the magic of my teenage years in Laguna Beach.

Hard to listen to
Revisado: 12-17-17
While the content of the story is interesting and informative, the spoken word performance of the author sounds like he recorded it through an old analog cell phone on speakerphone. I'm fine with him using an old manual typewriter to write his books, but to listen to the distortion and lack of clarity of his voice is too much. Next time try to get him into a proper studio.
