The characters were believable, her family was nutty, and The Road Kings were fantastic! I really enjoyed the depth of the characters. Really funny dialogue between the band members.

Barbara Hambly's series of books is a great fantasy. You feel every foot of the terrifying, miserable, frozen journey to the Keep. The Dark as enemies are horror made real.
But the narrator sounds like she reads at a second grade level. I would call it wooden, but that would hint that she had some life. Her performance KILLS this story. Arrrgh!

I loved the struggle in this book between a desperate, clever woman and a class-strangled Duke. Fighting their wild chemistry is breathtaking and hot! The supporting characters are fresh and well rounded, (the daughter is priceless). You'll love this read too!
