Historia
If people have polar opposites, Luca Rossi is mine. His butt is in the baseball hall of fame. Mine's comfortably seated in the hall of lame. When he's not snagging fly balls out in center field, he's modeling in shampoo commercials. I once jammed my own finger while stirring cookie dough, and sometimes I forget shampoo is a thing. He's a total cynic when it comes to love. I make a living writing love stories. But after my latest broken engagement (no, I don't want to talk about how many times that's happened), it's clear he's exactly the man I need.

So Fun!
Revisado: 12-11-20
This was definitely a fun and light book. As always, Jason Clarke could read the phone book and I’d listen for hours. Henrietta is nutty but so unpredictable which is what I love. It’s different and will make you laugh and feel all the feels.

Historia
Once upon a time, there was a girl who dressed up and went to a big party at the palace. When she was there, she met a prince. They danced and fell in love. Damn good line. Too bad I don’t believe a word of it anymore. My name is Claire Montgomery, and I’m not a princess. I’m a fighter. I worked hard to earn my place on the emergency image repair team for one of the biggest public relations companies in the country. We’ve been called to the renowned Chicago headquarters of Stone Global Corporation, where it’s our job to clean up a heap of the Stone family’s filthiest laundry.

Great story, great writing, bad female narrator
Revisado: 11-25-20
I loved this story and the authors’ writing tells the story very well. Jason Clarke wows as always, but I wish he narrated the whole book. His female voice was much preferred over the female narrator Devon Grace. She whispered everything, I had to turn my volume up super loud and still missed many words, having to rewind. I felt as if she was reading it in the basement while her parents slept upstairs or something, like she was secretly narrating. If it added to the story, I would be fine but it didn’t add to the story at all. It actually took away from it as there were louder parts and words that just jump out at you; and you have no idea if they were meant to be “loud” or if she just decided to speak in her normal voice for that sentence. I pushed through to finishe the book but now in book 2, I’m DYING! I don’t think I can listen to another entire book of her, let alone the whole series! Plus in one part where the narration clearly says “she whispered” it was almost like it was hard for her to whisper at that time? I don’t think she realizes she is whispering the entire time. Plus her character is kinda annoying and weak and doesn’t live up to who I pictured her to be based on Killian’s view of her. Please just have Jason read all parts. Swoon...

All hope was lost until Zoey Hennessy walked back into my world, shaking it up beyond repair when she uttered two simple words. He’s alive. But when Zoey proves he’s alive and being held captive by a monster, I know what I have to do. It’s time I saved him. The plan is dangerous, and there are no guarantees I will survive. But if this nightmare has taught me one thing, it’s that I don’t cower in fear.

Historia
My name is Lucy Tucker, and my life…it was perfect. I worked the dream job. I had the most incredible family and friends. My home, Whispering Willows, a ranch in Montana, was everything I could ever wish for. My adoring fiancé, Samuel Stone, loved me unconditionally. I had everything a girl could ever want. But one fateful event shattered my perfect life. It’s unimaginable how simple, ordinary words can change a person’s life forever. For me those words were, “There’s been an accident.”

There is more to this man than the way he makes me tremble, sigh, and even smile when I didn't believe I still could smile. And as it turns out the two of us together are far more than fire and passion. The two of us together threaten to expose a secret about Jax, and our families, that not even we know. A secret that someone doesn't want exposed. A secret that someone will do anything to hide.

So many times I should've just stopped listening
Revisado: 10-22-20
So just don't even start listening and save a credit or at the minimum, your time. I don't usually yell at books but soooo many times I asked the characters "why?? why would you do that?" and not in a good way. In a very frustrating, out of character way. There was so much redundancy in this trilogy, repetitive phrases that may be there to add impact but just become annoying after a while. Also, I couldn't listen to the female narrator, she just seems so frantic all the time. I much preferred Jason Clarke's impression of Emma instead, more cool, calm, and in control. I also dislike poor and immature communication between partners and this had A LOT of that. Very soap opera esque...they'd start a conversation and then just leave it or find another place to have it and then end up just having sex. They solved everything with sex, which isn't a bad thing but I do like some resolution with communication as well. Plus there's definitely a rape TRIGGER with flashbacks so beware, Also for as smart as Emma is and how much she said she's grown and changed, she is just so stupid sometimes. I couldn't. I listened til the end because I had invested too much time to stop but I wouldn't recommend to anyone else.

I really enjoyed this book. This was the 1st from this author that I have read. The story line at times reminded me of real life situations I've been in with friends. So it was very believable and had me in suspense a lot of the time. I love the love that they share. Great story, I would definitely recommend.
