Inspirational AND practical

Listened to this before hiking the Sierra portion of the PCT and we are listening to it afterwards now that we can nod along to the wonderful descriptions of this landscape. So many lines or even complete poems I’ve thought “I want to print that and hang that on my wall”. Listened to and loved Shaman after this. Tried to get into the Mars series, but ironically for me as a card-carrying science nerd, I couldn’t get into it. Possibility because it seemed more about politics than adventure. This book is absolutely the opposite. The personal journey the that the author interweaves into the narrative isn’t a distraction — it highlights the life changing power of this mountain range
