Historia
Mark, Todd, and Zola came to law school to change the world, to make it a better place. But now, as third-year students, these close friends realize they have been duped. They all borrowed heavily to attend a third-tier, for-profit law school so mediocre that its graduates rarely pass the bar exam, let alone get good jobs. And when they learn that their school is one of a chain owned by a shady New York hedge-fund operator who also happens to own a bank specializing in student loans, the three know they have been caught up in The Great Law School Scam.

Disappointed in Grisham’s latest storylines
Revisado: 12-29-18
I’ve listened to nearly every book John Grisham has written. I rarely submit a negative review, however the last few books of JG has been disappointing. The storyline is like balloon slowing losing air. You keep waiting for that burst of adventure that makes you glad you bought the book. Nope, the air continues to slowly seep away to nothing but disappointment.

Wish I could give 10 stars to this masterpiece!
Revisado: 12-19-15
Where does The Life We Bury rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
The Life We Bury ranks right up at the top of my list of favorite audiobooks.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Choosing a favorite character for this book is a challenge. Each character brings their own multidimensional personalities to the story. I really like Carl. He's had time to figure out what really matters in life and I like his perspective. I liked how Joe was just going about his own life and yet the series of events prompts him to choose his actions, thus revealing his true character. Last, but not least, I ADORED Jeremy.
What does Zach Villa bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Zach Villa pulls you in with his enticing tones and filled with emotion.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
This book kept me hooked constantly. Just when you think you have the storyline figured out, the author catapults you into a totally different direction. It made me smile, frown, laugh AND cry.
Any additional comments?
Needless to say, I highly recommend this book. It has everything a perfect book requires. I was totally fascinated from beginning to end.

Historia
It’s the summer of 2005, and Mardi Jo Link’s dream of living the simple life has unraveled into debt, heartbreak, and perpetually ragged cuticles. She and her husband of nineteen years have just called it quits, leaving her with serious cash-flow problems and a looming divorce. More broke than ever, Link makes a seemingly impossible resolution: to hang on to her century-old farmhouse in northern Michigan and continue to raise her three boys on well water and wood chopping and dirt. Armed with an unfailing sense of humor and three resolute accomplices, Link confronts blizzards and foxes, learns about Zen divorce and the best way to butcher a hog, dominates a zucchini-growing contest and wins a year’s supply of local bread, masters the art of bargain cooking, wrangles rampaging poultry, and withstands any blow to her pride in order to preserve the life she wants.

Everything about the man is a mystery: the massive ranch in the remote Black Hills of Wyoming that nobody ever visits, the women who live with him, the secret philanthropies, the private airstrip, the sudden disappearances. And especially the persistent rumors that the man’s wealth comes from killing people. Joe Pickett, still officially a game warden but now mostly a troubleshooter for the governor, is assigned to find out what the truth is, but he discovers a lot more than he’d bargained for. There are two other men living up at that ranch. One is a stone-cold killer who takes an instant dislike to Joe.

Great Story
Revisado: 04-02-13
Would you consider the audio edition of The Survivor to be better than the print version?
No. Jackie Schlicher seemed to have too much of a monotone. She was reading words, not telling the story. Failed at bringing the story to life.

Kariss. Sassy.
What aspect of Jackie Schlicher’s performance would you have changed?
I would have had her put more emotion in her performance and less just reading the sentences.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The shooting scene was well written.
