Historia
When THE Tatum Elliott shows up to run the catering kitchen at my family's farm and event center, I don't trust her any more than I did back in culinary school. But like it or not, she's here. On my territory. My turf. In the kitchen that shares a building with my farm-to-table restaurant. And she can't seem to keep her hands off my parmesan. Our old rivalry flares to life faster than a flambe, but there's something else flaming between us too. And it's heating up quicker than anything we're making in the kitchen.

I really enjoyed the humor in this book and the characters' inner dialogue. it was also great to have a romance story but not have to read grafic sex details.

Historia
Sixteen-year-old Starr Carter moves between two worlds: the poor neighborhood where she lives and the fancy suburban prep school she attends. The uneasy balance between these worlds is shattered when Starr witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend Khalil at the hands of a police officer. Khalil was unarmed. Soon afterward, his death is a national headline. Some are calling him a thug, maybe even a drug dealer and a gangbanger. Protesters are taking to the streets in Khalil’s name.

Historia
In this classic fantasy novel from author Michael Ende, small and insignificant Bastian Balthazar Bux is nobody's idea of a hero, least of all his own. Then, through the pages of an ancient, mysterious book, he discovers the enchanted world of Fantastica, and only Bastian himself can save the fairy people who live there. Shy, awkward Bastian is amazed to discover that he has become a character in the mysterious book he is reading and that he has an important mission to fulfill.

It really feels like it will never end.
Revisado: 02-17-17
The first third of the book is great. That's probably why they made a movie from just the first third of the book. After that, it feels like the story just goes on and on. It takes a long time to even realize what the conflict is and why the story is still going. For a long time in the middle, it feels almost like a collection of very weird short stories. I also didn't like it that the main character became so unlikable for a while.

Good incite, but slow story
Revisado: 07-25-16
This book has great incite into the mind of someone with autism. The character of the young boy really comes across. The characterization is powerful and you really feel like you know this kid by the end of the book. The story does lag a little in some places because of the viewpoint. Since the autistic child is telling the story, he rambles on some. It was good, but not a book that I couldn't put down. I do think it would make a great book club book. Lots of great discussion topics with the parent relationship, the difficulties in raising a special needs child, and the issues surrounding a martial split.
