I have been called arrogant. Ruthless. Heartless. I don't consider those characteristics to be insults. If I am arrogant, ruthless, and heartless, then people cower down. I make my own rules and call all the shots. I suppose that's why people opt to call me by my last name. Havoc. It's very fitting for me. I wreak havoc on anyone who gets in my way. Right now, that person is a beautiful redhead who refuses to play by my rules. Doesn't she know I'm the only one who's allowed to break them?

Why are we always asking Why?
Revisado: 11-03-21
Could have been a good story but the writing is pretty basic with a lot of cliches. The couple has spent maybe a total of 8 hours together and they are in love. They immediately start thinking of marriage and kids. So much potential the h does somewhat stands her ground but in some ways the H has his cake and eats it too.

Great story! It's nice to listen to a book with a beginning, middle and end. I felt like I've been in a book rut not really getting a good story this was a refreshing listen. Very worth the time and credit.

Don’t skip this one it’s WORTH IT!!!!
This audiobook book is told in such a way that it was like watching it as a movie. I don’t think I have laughed at any audiobook as much as I have at this one. At the start of this book, I felt I should have known these characters. This is not the case you will get to know each MC for their own funny, witty, personal journeys. This story of 3 friends attending the “Wedding of the Year” rivals the shenanigans of the movie Bridesmaids. I could write a long review explaining the story but it's not necessary just start listening and you'll understand all the great reviews. I HIGHLY recommended this audiobook especially if you’re like me and listen to several books a week it a nice change of approach to New Romance scene. This is a funny, light read yet it's sexy too.
P.S. I wouldn't mind more of this crew

Historia
After that close-up of his package on the sailboat in Morocco, TMZ started calling him Crown Jewels. Not that I keep track of Prince Liam. Definitely don’t stalk him online like my friends do. I’m out of that scene now. My family’s reality show might still be running, but I’ve been off-screen for a while. When people pass me on the sidewalk, they might squint, but most of them don’t scream “Lucy Rhodes” and ask about my love of Lucky Charms or how my broken toe healed. Prince Liam - my stalking his Instagram - that’s just for fun. It’s my dirty little secret.

I really liked that the writer took the time to build a relationship between the characters but hated that the reveals were constantly dangled in the air and dragged out. It ruined the story for me. I couldn't enjoy the journey and found myself checking on how much time was left and hoping that the fallout wouldn't be rushed. There is a lot of the couple "getting to know each other" that I fast-forwarded through because I felt there was a lot of issues that need to be addressed. I have finished what there is of the series and do think the books get better. I would say that with the exception of this one and the second one they are unrelated and can be read as standalone. If you choose to read the series out of order you really will not be missing much,

Did the best man win?
Revisado: 05-14-19
Probably, What I mean is that, it's my wish that the guy that didn't get the girl gets someone more deserving of him. I thought I was going to like the H in the book she ended up being disappointing. It seems that a lot of people like Dane but honestly I don't understand why? I feel that she basically fell for him because he was able to spoil her she admittedly says that she knows nothing about him and I don't feel like his secretiveness is explained or warranted. This somewhat coming of age story lacked the ability to give me the feels. I understand what the writer was trying to do with the story but I feel that it was poorly executed. I'm moving on to the next book hoping there will some redemption for the lack of character relationship building in this one.

Huh?
Revisado: 03-30-19
Interesting story I guess. This book does not follow any writing structure. Take everything you know from the previous books and throw it out the window. The only thing that keeps you intrigued is the desire to have the story come full circle. It almost like the writer sat down to write with lots of incomplete ideas and decided to jumble them up and say here you go you make sense of it. While I didn't care for how this is written the series might be excellent for a book club it would be interesting to hash out details and thoughts with others.

Historia
Dan's survived a lot. Her mother died. Her two sisters loathed her. One aunt hated her. The other was strangely distant, but the worst storm was being dumped by her childhood best friend/high school boyfriend/first love for her younger sister. There went the one person who was hers and with that, the main reason she stuck around. So, she left for 10 years. But now she's back, and nothing's the same.

I don't get it.
Revisado: 03-30-19
Positive first, I think the narrator of the book was really good she gave each character their own voice.
Story Review: Even though Tijan stories are high drama and teenybopperish I usually enjoy them. However, this one baffled and irked all the way through. The book lacks the main ingredient that Tijan is known for, LOYALTY. All the characters were contradictions. The backstory or mysteries were pretty confusing.
Dani comes home after leaving town broken hearted 10 years early. Why? because she survived a tragic experience and felt that it was time to stop running from her past. IMO seeing who and what came home to didn't make it seem like that was the place for her to heal. Nothing in the story makes me understand why any of the people she left behind has the right to be angry with her. The only person that she should have maybe cared about is her Aunt Mae but even she was questionable since she tries to justify Dani's sister's betrayal (while she strongly held on to her own grudges) Plus, she kind of let Dani down not stepping up sooner. We only got to know the surface of each of the characters which made it hard really understand the characters motives. The backstory about the family got really confusing to me and was too messy to figure out. I think I got the gist of what the writer was trying to say, that Dani comes from a long line of betrayers and that history keeps repeating itself when it comes to the women in this family. The Jonah and Dani romance was cute and comfortable which is the only thing this book has going for it. I was really hoping that a few people got put in their place but I was sorely let down. In the end, I think that Tijan tries to put too much in the book and was unable to make fully developed storylines.

I am...That’s no longer an easy statement. Who am I? Since Sterling Sparrow, a man so handsome he takes my breath away and so infuriating he pushes me in ways I’ve never known, came barreling into my life like a category five hurricane, I can’t even finish that simple statement. In 26 years I’ve lived three lives - been three different people. Renee. Kennedy. And now, Araneae. They say that I was named after the spider to make me resilient. Sparrow would then be a bird. Birds eat spiders. I prefer to consider myself a cat.

Rate Balancing (A hard listen)
Revisado: 03-18-19
My low review is because I could not in good conscience contribute to the book being rated so high. With that said this book is not terrible but definitely lacking the ability to fully pull me in because of the banal H/h cheesy dialogue and insta-love reactions. I'm pretty sure that I have listened to all of Aleatha books. I don't believe that I have disliked her characters as much as I have in this one. Since I'm familiar with her books I'm aware that they are usually dark romances, it comes to me as no surprise that Sterling wasn't going to be the most likeable man. As far as I can tell his looks and money are only thing that makes her attracted to him. What is killing this story for me Kennedy/Aranee. I'm am aware that for books like this to work the h has to be somewhat foolish but my God she is as vapid as they come. What confuses me more is the level of trust she was willing to give him when he was threatening her best friends life. The author tries to makes her seem accomplished and sassy but in the end that makes her seem worse because she really seems to lack backbone.
As always I am intrigued with the real story however I find the coupling is cringeworthy and frustrating because I had to endure it because the h would be in a position to get answers only to push it aside to muse and act on he musings. I wouldn't not recommend but I don't think it deserves high praises. You may be able prepare yourself properly if you're like me and find yourself wondering if you listened to the same book as the 5 star reviews.

Franci and Lottie may be identical twins, but that’s where the similarities end. Franci has always been the stable one, while Lottie has bipolar disorder, constantly battling depression and mania. After years of taking care of her sister, Franci moves across the country to build a life for herself. Now, all the two share is distance. But when Lottie gets in an accident, Franci reluctantly steps back into her familiar role as protector. She returns to find her sister’s life in complete disarray and makes a shocking discovery: Lottie has an infant daughter she never told Franci about.

*Spoilers* The conclusion didn't sit well with me
Revisado: 03-13-19
I felt that the writer was crafting a beautiful story that ended up being only cosmetic, it lacks the depth it could have held. I would not recommend this book to anyone that's bipolar or someone living with someone with bipolar disorder. While it may give some insight into the disorder it seemed to imply that it's a hopeless disease of nothing but doom and despair. I really hate to give this a negative review because overall the story was compelling but, in the end it left me feeling frustrated and for lack of better words depressed. The narration of the book was okay I didn't like that Lottie sounds robotics and detached but it could be the writing. The voice was contradictory to the way her character is portrayed.
It's would be hard for me to write a review of this book without spoiling it, this is where I tell you about the book if you don't want it to be spoiled you should stop reading. The firstborn twin Lottie is the protector, she's strong, smart, and charismatic. While Francis bookish and perferred to blend into the background, content with living vicariously through her sister and slow to come into herself. That is until Lottie is diagnosed with bipolar disorder. The story jumps from past and present events told from the POV of both sisters. Although the writer seems to be trying to tell the story in a sympathetic manner all I feel is the writer's disdain for the disease. I know that's harsh but all throughout the book I was waiting for Lottie to be seen as a person and not just the disease. I did not expect a HEA but I did expect the writer to address what it takes to live with this disorder. Witt said all the right things to Francis but in the end his words loss merit because he too choose only see the illness. By killing every depressed character by suicide this book seems to be saying that people can not live fulfilled lives if they suffer from mental illness. What concerns me more is that many people will read/listen to this book and see Lottie as the problem instead of seeing that lack of positive support was the problem. Francis may have been the one picking up the pieces but by making everything about the disease she might have caused the fractures.
I have to keep in mind that this a authors telling of one persons battle with mental illness. She told a good thought provoking tale I just wish that she would have shown more strength in Lottie's character and the importance of positive support. A book in this genre addressing mental illness needs positive education more than poetic writing.

Years before Trip Wiley could be seen on movie screens all over the world, he could be seen sitting in the desk behind me in my high school English class. This was back in 1990, and I cite the year only to avoid dumbfounding you when references to big hair or stretch pants are mentioned. Although, come to think of it, I am from New Jersey, which may serve as explanation enough. We were teenagers then, way back in a time before anyone, himself included, could even dream he'd turn into the Hollywood commodity that he is today.

Revisado: 03-10-19
This book was like listening to Layla's diary the story focuses on the randomness of bud relationships. In the end I'm confused about who Layla really is and wish that we got more of the characters sans Trip. While the narrator did a good job reading the story I don't think she set the right tone for the characters, Layla seems a little softer that how the narrator read her. I'm not sure that that's the narrators fault since the character is a contradiction in itself. I'd have to say that I was bored with how the book was written but I even contradict myself by saying I still want to hear the trainwreck of a story out. I have invested myself into their story hoping it will pay off with the romance novel feels.
