Historia
He was born a king. Half troll and half man, he crawled from the womb of a god and found himself leader of a deformed but powerful race. As he struggles to lead his people Mellinda slithers into their midst. She wields the Rings of Stardeon and she has her own plans for his people. A prophet has been taken. A demon army joins the enemies of the grove. Will Justan's might and Tarah Woodblade's powers be enough to help Jhonate's people protect the Jharro Grove? It may all depend on the choices made by the Troll King.

Where does The Troll King rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Not sure if I want to rank this against all other audiobooks, but against the rest of the series it really comes down to your preference of world building or action packed. The Troll King fits into a model that I like where there is a flushing out of the plot but it doesn't trip over itself. This isn't my favorite from the series but would rank as #3. Also from the number of stars I am giving to the series it is one I highly recommend anyone wanting a fun fantasy series to try out.
Who was your favorite character and why?
There is a lot of Tara in this book and perhaps it is Andrew Tell's narration but I enjoyed watching her grow a bit further in this series. From the cliff hanger at the end of the book, it will be interesting to see if Trever Cooley decides to later have a more focused book on the Trollkin and to see if Tara somehow saves the kin or helps them further develop or if that gets mixed into a joint part of a larger plot within one book. I like this series so seeing several more books over a few would be my preference.
Which scene was your favorite?
It is an early scene but I enjoyed seeing Fist and Squirrel work together to solve the issue of his Fist's father's fight. That and seeing the Ogre's civilization take a step forward due to the previous war. I am still trying to figure out what Fist gained with his new bond. I know Trever Cooley on his blog mentioned that the next book will have more on Fist, so maybe we will see.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I could have, but I had already read the book a year ago in one sitting. But I did listen to the book (at 2X speed) in one day.
Any additional comments?
I had read this book when it was first released. I know not all of Cooley's fans liked the book because it is light on action, I disagree. This is late in the saga for world building but it was timed well and adds a new depth to plot. I like the addition that flushed out the history of the trolls further from the previous books and I look forward to seeing where this goes. Hopefully, now that Noose Jumpers is finished we will see the next book come out before the end of the year.

Audible should have a better description of book
Revisado: 03-02-15
Anthologies are hard to rate because often these are short stories taken out larger story arcs and done so as to not interfere with the larger arc if the reader doesn't read the anthology. But it is also a great opportunity to discover a new author. My difficulty with this one was not knowing any part of the back story and often not knowing the author or being able to figure out who they were without doing a web search for a fan site. I don't blame the authors but think the editors and Audible could have done a better job

Historia
Devin Lyle has recently returned to the Salem area, but her timing couldn't be worse. Soon after she moved into the eighteenth-century cabin she inherited from her great-aunt Mina - her "crazy" great-aunt, who spoke to the dead - a woman was murdered nearby. Craig Rockwell - known as Rocky - is a new member of the Krewe of Hunters, the FBI's team of paranormal investigators. He never got over finding a friend dead in the woods. Now another body's been found in those same woods, not far from the home of a woman named Devin Lyle.

The narration made it worth the listen

The story is similar in plot line with previous Krew of Hunter books. However, the story is solid and the narrator performs the book very well so that I didn't mind the similar plot line.
