Historia
On the evening of November 24, 1971, D. B. Cooper hijacked Flight 305—Portland to Seattle—with a fake bomb, collected a ransom of $200,000, and then parachuted from the rear of the plane, disappearing into the night...and into history. Fifty years later, Agent Pendergast takes on a bizarre and gruesome case: in the ghost-haunted city of Savannah, Georgia, bodies are found with no blood left in their veins—sowing panic and reviving whispered tales of the infamous Savannah Vampire.

Narration is mumbly and a bit boring.
Revisado: 08-19-21
I may not be able to get past Chapter 10. First time I EVER thought of a Pendergast book as a chore. I'll take a break and try again later.

Historia
A mummified corpse, over half a century old, is found in the cellar of an abandoned building in a remote New Mexico ghost town. Corrie Swanson is assigned what seems to her a throwaway case: to ID the body and determine cause of death. She brings archaeologist Nora Kelly to excavate the body and lend her expertise to the investigation, and together they uncover something unexpected and shocking: the deceased apparently died in agony, in a fetal position, skin coming off in sheets, with a rictus of horror frozen on his face. Hidden on the corpse lies a 16th-century Spanish gold cross.

REALLY MISS....
Revisado: 01-14-21
...Rene Auberjonois as narrator. (May he rest in peace.) Whoever does Pendergast's dialogue must sound extremely snotty. Will listen to Preston/Child books even though they've lost the supernatural "mystique."

Historia
Visit the magical animal world of Brian Jacques in this thrilling prequel to Redwall. Long before the abbey of Redwall is built, the land is known simply as Mossflower, a lush woodland and happy home to all. That is, until Tsarmina, a cruel wildcat queen who demands obedience and offers the castle's dungeon to those who defy her, comes along. Brian Jacques' tales of courageous heroes and deliciously hateful villains have captivated countless readers.

Audio is troublesome.
Revisado: 05-09-20
Had to adjust speed and volume frequently to understand the garbled speech and shouting, screeching and whispered dialog. The print books are wonderful and the Stuart Blinder audio of Redwall is certainly worth the investment of both time and $$$$. Would LOVE to have him do the other books!!!!

Historia
When Greta Helsing, doctor to the undead, is unexpectedly called to Paris to present at a medical conference, she expects nothing more exciting than professional discourse on zombie reconstructive surgery and skin disease in bogeymen - and hopefully at least one uneventful night at the Opera. Unfortunately for Greta, Paris happens to be infested with a coven of vampires - and not the civilized kind. If she hopes to survive, Greta must navigate the darkest corners of the City of Lights, the maze of ancient catacombs and mine-tunnels underneath the streets.

This is a fun series..
Revisado: 06-10-19
Narration was excellent -- Kate Reading is the best. The plot can be a bit confusing and sometimes flirts with "you can't be serious..." but characters are well developed and occasionally humorous. I'm totally hooked and am anxiously awaiting the third and final (unfortunately) book in October!!!

Historia
These 36 lectures tell the remarkable story of a tumultuous thousand-year period in the history of England. Dominated by war, conquest, and the struggle to balance the stability brought by royal power with the rights of the governed, it was a period that put into place the foundation of much of the world we know today. As you journey through this largely chronological narrative you'll see key themes emerge, including the assimilation of successive waves of invaders, the tense relationship between kings and the nobility, and the constant battles over money and taxation.
