Epic love story amongst the ruin of civilization.
Revisado: 06-15-19
The story was very well written. WWII was horrific and this author weaves a good story. However, the person who narrated this story did a horrible job. She couldn't switch in and out of character.

Historia
Seth Hubbard is a wealthy man dying of lung cancer. He trusts no one. Before he hangs himself from a sycamore tree, Hubbard leaves a new, handwritten, will. It is an act that drags his adult children, his Black maid, and Jake into a conflict as riveting and dramatic as the murder trial that made Brigance one of Ford County's most notorious citizens, just three years earlier. The second will raises far more questions than it answers. Why would Hubbard leave nearly all of his fortune to his maid? Had chemotherapy and painkillers affected his ability to think clearly?

This is one of Grisham's finest. It picks up with our favorite lawyer Jake Brigance. Three years after the trial of Carl Lee Hailey, Jake is still struggling to make ends meet. He is asked to defend Seth Hubbard's wishes that his will be carried out specifically as he requested. As always, this story grabs you from the start and doesn't let go. The surprise ending left me crying and shook to my core at the hate men can have for their fellow man. I loved this book and it will definitely be one I come back to time and time again.

Historia
The modern-day Jonah at the center of Joshua Max Feldman's brilliantly conceived retelling of the book of Jonah is a young Manhattan lawyer named Jonah Jacobstein. He's a lucky man: healthy and handsome, with two beautiful women ready to spend the rest of their lives with him and an enormously successful career that gets more promising by the minute. He's celebrating a deal that will surely make him partner when a bizarre, unexpected biblical vision at a party changes everything. Hard as he tries to forget what he saw, this disturbing sign is only the first of many Jonah will witness, and before long his life is unrecognizable.

Not about Religion
Revisado: 06-05-14
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
I was really disappointed in this book. It isn't that the story lacked, it was just not what I expected at all. I thought this book was about Faith and Religion. In a very far, round about way, I guess you could say it was, but I didn't think so.
What about David Pittu’s performance did you like?
I thought David Pittu's performance was grand.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Sadness and very much disappointment.

Would you listen to Six Years again? Why?
Harlan Coben hooks you right from the start with the twist and turns of Natalie and her life. What a great Author. I can't say enough good things about this book, except you will not be able to put it down.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Scott Brick?
I loved this book, but Scott Brick almost ruined it for me. I didn't like his version of story telling at all. He made the character seem week and not very appealing. If it wouldn't have been for already reading this book and knowing how great it was, he would have lost me at Hello.

"Ninety-five days, and then I'll be safe. I wonder whether the procedure will hurt. I want to get it over with. It's hard to be patient. It's hard not to be afraid while I'm still uncured, though so far the deliria hasn't touched me yet. Still, I worry. They say that in the old days, love drove people to madness. The deadliest of all deadly things: It kills you both when you have it and when you don't."

Excellent Books
Revisado: 10-31-13
What made the experience of listening to Delirium the most enjoyable?
These three books have reminded me why I read (or listen to) books. Excellent story line. You are so quickly caught up in the story that you can't stop reading or listening to the story to find out what happens next. I highly suggest all three in the series. You will not be disapointed.
What does Sarah Drew bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Sarah Drew is an excellent story teller. I absolutely could not put these down. She had me following along with her as if I was in the story myself. Would listen to her anytime, anywhere and anyday.
