Historia
Tripp Sharpe and I have been best friends since middle school. And when he moved away to go to medical school and become a doctor? We’ve kept up by texting, phone calls, and every funny reel we come across. I have one simple rule for myself: protect our friendship at all costs—even from myself. But when Tripp moves back to town, I can't ignore the attraction I feel. If it were anyone else, I’d just avoid him. But it's hard to avoid a guy who thinks we're still the same ol' besties we've always been.

Where's chapter 26???
Revisado: 05-24-24
I've read this book before and loved it, so when chapter 26 went for 1 minute then poofed into 27, I immediately noticed. There's a lot there to miss! Not sure how it made it past quality control this way. Narration is decent, although the female narrator always makes me think she's reading a news reel. Not a lot of emotion. But the story and author are great and I'm loving having the whole sweater weather series to listen to.

I grew up with him and bested him in practically everything we did together–debate, grades, mini-golf, you name it. So I’ve built an immunity to his boy-next-door charm. Sure, sometimes I might accidentally type his name into my search engine, but his dimples, hotel empire and thirst-trap photos don’t tempt me. I’ve got my sights set on earning my way to the top of the Palmer Hotel empire, and nothing is going to get in my way.

Historia
Maren Kelly and her friend Penny may be lost in the Scottish Highlands, yes. They may be caught in the blizzard of the century, sure. But despite their dire straits, Maren is going to honor her ailing mother’s wish for them to experience all the magic, mystery, and whimsy Scotland has to offer, even if she freezes to death trying. When they’re rescued by the dashing Duncan Campbell, who seems like he walked straight out of the seventeenth century, Maren is more than a wee bit bewildered.

This needs to be a Hallmark movie! Magical, sweet and romantic. Great narration and the accents were well done.

Historia
Seven years on the run from her abusive father, and with no hope of sanctuary among the dwindling pockets of human civilization, Lark is out of options. Her only leverage is a cursed power: she can thrust fear onto others, leaving all threats fleeing in terror. It’s a means of survival as she searches for a place to call home. If the campfire myths of her childhood are true, Lark’s sole chance for refuge could lie in Cagmar, the city of trolls—a brutal species and the sworn enemies of humanity.

Revisado: 08-23-23
Charlie Holmberg never disappoints, but her stories aren't everyone's cup of tea. I thoroughly enjoy her storytelling and the magic she weaves into each story. If you're a regular fan of hers, you'll enjoy this one as well.

Nora Stephens' life is books—she’s read them all—and she is not that type of heroine. Not the plucky one, not the laidback dream girl, and especially not the sweetheart. In fact, the only people Nora is a heroine for are her clients, for whom she lands enormous deals as a cutthroat literary agent, and her beloved little sister Libby.

If they say nipple ONE MORE TIME.....
Revisado: 07-07-23
I have a love/hate relationship with this book. the characters are amazing, the growth and depth is unparalleled. But the constant f bombs and explicit scenes were enough that I almost stopped multiple times. I'm a stickler for books that I won't be embarrassed someone else hearing if they pick up my phone. The fact that I DIDN'T stop before finishing, in spite of the cusswords and nipple scenes, tells you how good the storyline was.

Historia
Anastasia “Nastya” Romanov was given a single mission: to smuggle an ancient spell into her suitcase on her way to exile in Siberia. It might be her family’s only salvation. But the leader of the Bolshevik army is after them, and he’s hunted Romanov before. Nastya’s only chances of saving herself and her family are either to release the spell and deal with the consequences, or to enlist help from Zash, a handsome soldier who doesn’t act like the average Bolshevik. Nastya has only dabbled in magic, but it doesn’t frighten her half as much as her growing attraction to Zash.

So good!
Revisado: 05-02-23
I honestly don't understand why this book doesn't have better reviews. The writing style made me think of the diary of Anne Frank, more than a fast paced fantasy novel. Maybe that's why people complained about the slow plot? I feel like this generation of readers doesnt have the patience to let a plot develop slowly.
The narration was very good, and Russian accents were perfect (at least to this Yank's untrained ear). I highly recommend.

Thanks to house tamer Hulda Larkin, the mischief infesting Whimbrel House has calmed. Merritt has realized his own burgeoning powers, which draw the thoughts of every plant, insect, and dog. His nights are sleepless, with an uncontrollable cacophony of voices that compel a long-overdue search into his uncanny bloodline. Revisado: 04-12-23
I've loved Charlie Holberg's works for years, but I have to say that her writing talent is developing as the years go by. This series is my new favorite of hers. The writing is beautifully done, the characters complex, and a unique plot to boot. This audiobook came out yesterday and I've finished and am rabid for the next book!

Why did they have to bring in BLM?
Revisado: 11-30-22
I was looking for a quick listen to get me in the Christmas mood. The narration was a bit flat, but I kept listening, hoping for the story to catch my attention. Unfortunately the only thing to catch my attention was the mention of BLM, which is known to take hardworking, well-meaning donors' money and use it to buy multimillion dollar homes, and is also anti-traditional family and Marxist. I will not be finishing this book.

Elite magic user Bacchus Kelsey is one elusive spell away from his mastership when he catches Elsie breaking an enchantment. To protect her secret, Elsie strikes a bargain.

PLEASE rerecord the male narrator!!
Revisado: 11-17-22
As literally every other review states, the male narrator almost ruins a wonderful story. I made it through his performance with teeth gritted only because I've read the books and know how good they are, but I wouldnt have made it through otherwise. He has the most ridiculously posh English accent I've ever heard, and would be better suited doing voice overs on BBC documentaries. Please reconsider a different narrator, such as Steve West.

Great story, meh narration
Revisado: 10-13-22
As much as I hate to say it, I had a hard time making it through this book. I've heard worse narrators, don't get me wrong. But this one was very lackluster and the story was hard to follow in consequence. I started this book, decided not to finish, then weeks later when I had nothing else to read, I went back and made myself finish it. Maybe I've been spoiled by narrators like Justine Eyre, but I sincerely wish she would've been the one reading this book. If you can work through the narration though, theres a great story hiding underneath.
