Historia
Sadie Miller isn't expecting any welcome-home parades on her return to Copper Ridge. Least of all from part-time rancher, full-time lawman Eli Garrett. The straitlaced, impossibly hot deputy sheriff glares at her as if she's the same teenage hoodlum who fled town 10 years ago. But running from her demons has brought Sadie full circle, ready to make a commitment at last. Not to a man but to a bed-and-breakfast. On Garrett land. Okay, so her plan has a tiny flaw.

SLOW!
Revisado: 03-26-17
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
If you like the author you might like this one. It was first thing I've read by Maisey Yates.
Would you ever listen to anything by Maisey Yates again?
This is the first book I've read written by Maisey Yates. I might read the second book in the series just to see how it compares to this one.
Would you be willing to try another one of Lillian Thayer’s performances?
NO! I could hardly finish this one, I did not like her voices for the different characters, I found it very irritating.
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
Don't think so. When I finally finished it (it definitely wasn't a page turner), it left me kind of deflated.

Too Violent & Crude For Me!
Revisado: 08-05-16
What disappointed you about Preacher?
Preacher is the president of a biker gang called the Buzzard's. The Buzzard's own the "drug trade" in Rapid City. The book is about gang life, prostitutes, and dirty cops. And of course change. I won't say I was disappointed in his character. His character was fairly well written. I didn't care for the story line.
What was most disappointing about Dahlia West’s story?
This is the first book I've listened to from Dahlia West. I purchased it based on the reviews and story line. This book was too violent and sexually crude for me. If this book is typical of her writing, I won't be listening or reading any more of her books. I regret finishing it and not returning it after the first 2 chapters.
Have you listened to any of Mason Lloyd’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I haven't listened to Mason Lloyd before. I liked the performance he gave, even though I didn't like the story.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from Preacher?
I would have cut the scene in the beginning when Preacher Killed two of his gang members for betrayal.
Any additional comments?
At times I found it hard to follow what was going on. There were moments where Preacher is remembering his past, however there was no lead in to that memory. The first time he started a memory I actually backed up the story thinking I had missed something. The author did this several times throughout the book, each time I kept thinking I was lost. Without giving a spoiler alert, I didn't care much for the ending. I could come up with at least two other possible endings which would have made more sense.

High-powered businessman Cameron Shaw doesn't believe in love - until he falls head over heels for beautiful, passionate, and intensely private Martina. She's perfect in so many ways, immediately bonding with his little girl. Martina could be his future bride and a delightful stepmother...if only Cameron weren't blinded by his belief that Shelly, the gold-digging woman he's promised to marry, is pregnant with his child. After choosing Shelly over Marti at every turn, will he convince Marti she's his world and the only woman he wants?

Not up to the Hunted Series standards
Revisado: 05-12-16
This book wasn’t for you, but who do you think might enjoy it more?
I enjoyed the first two books in the series. This, the third book was extremely disappointing. I expected the female lead, Marti, to be hunted by someone. Not the story here. It is a romance story, with very little mystery or suspense.
What was most disappointing about Jennifer Ryan’s story?
I have very little tolerance for infidelity. The main character Cameron is engaged to Shelly (the gold digger), but continues to have sex with Marti, always telling her he is marrying Shelly. By halfway through the book I disliked Cameron and wasn't sure I liked Marti either. She allowed herself to be used by Cameron. Cameron came across as weak and gullible. He is the President of Merrick International for heaven's sake! His character should have had more backbone.
Which character – as performed by Coleen Marlo – was your favorite?
Jack and Sam - loved their parts of this story. My favorite scene was them escorting Cameron out of the hospital.
If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from The Right Bride?
Not sure what scenes I'd cut, but it definitely needed to be abridged. I felt like I kept reading the same thing over and over.
Any additional comments?
Skip book 3 in the series, or buy the book and skim through it in an hour. Spoiler alert -- You all know Cameron and Marti will end up together in end, the story is about how they get there. The ending left me empty. All I felt for the main characters was disappointment. Cameron was weak, and Marti didn't seem to have any self respect.

Read Series In Order!
Revisado: 03-31-16
Is there anything you would change about this book?
More focus on Luke and Reagan, less about his family. Luke and Reagan were supposedly the main characters, I figure they were only about 30% of the book. It seemed more about characters (his siblings) from the previous books, then about them.
How would you have changed the story to make it more enjoyable?
I enjoy stories that have a lot of characters, and where the characters are intertwined. You have an entire family represented in the book. But it was strange for a supposedly Christian family to keep so many secrets from each other. I would have enjoyed it more for family members to be more involved in the struggles of each other.
What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?
I didn't care for Sandra Burr's male voices. I heard other books by her that I enjoyed her narration, just not this one.
Do you think Return needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
Yes. It's already part of a series, but too many questions are left unanswered at the end of the book.
Any additional comments?
I understand that this book is part of a series. I wish I had known that they are not independent of each other. You need to read the series in order. When I started this book, I was lost. I kept thinking that I'd figure out who the characters were and that everything would "fall" into place. It never did. It was an okay book. I might have liked it better if I had read the series from the beginning.

Get Over Yourself
Revisado: 02-23-16
Would you try another book from Valerie Comer and/or Becky Doughty?
Unsure. I haven't decided whether to listen to books 2 and 3 yet.
Who would you have cast as narrator instead of Becky Doughty?
Tanya Eby, Therese Plummer or my fav Lauren Fortgang. Becky's narration of the various characters didn't seem to change much. At first I had difficulty following who was supposed to be speaking.
Do you think Raspberries and Vinegar needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?
There are more books in the series. Since Valerie introduced so many characters, I'd say yes the additional books are needed, so you know what happens to everyone else.
Any additional comments?
Positives. The book was squeaky clean including language, I enjoyed that. Downside: So...I consider myself a devout Christian. However, I don't include God in every conversation I have. I was a little put off by the constant "God" discussions. I was also put off by the constant pressure Jo put on everyone to be A LOT more environmentally friendly. This book definitely promotes going green. Jo is a christian but when it comes to the environment she didn't act very christian to those around her, especially Zach. Lastly Zach and his best friend Gab's use of the term "man" -- "Hey what you doing "man", trust in God "man", drove me nuts! Summary, I never did like Jo and couldn't see what Zach saw in her.

Just OK
Revisado: 01-28-16
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
A different narrator for starters. Every time I head Connie's voice for Lisa, I kept thinking of a porn star, it was very distracting. The story line was okay, but Rafe and Lisa's characters were very underdeveloped.
What was most disappointing about Alana Matthews’s story?
Rafe & Lisa's characters. I never did fall in love with them. Rafe's character came across as entitlement to becoming a detective. He came across as "my who family's in law enforcement and doing well, so even though I'm only 25, I deserve my detective shield now". The book starts off with him disturbing a crime scene and stealing a piece of info from said crime scene, so he can follow up with the lead himself, even though he is only a street cop. Lisa's character came across as being a very weak person, and very willing to do what she was told. She didn't appear to have any backbone. Her backbone finally appears when she puts herself in very real (stupid) danger, in a sting operation that is so ludicrous and unbelievable, I wanted to scream. Rafe & Lisa just didn't seem to have any real depth to their characters.
How could the performance have been better?
A different narrator would have been better. Additionally book really needed a male narrator.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Way Disappointed! I bought it on sale, but what ever I paid for it, it wasn't worth it. I'm so glad I didn't waste a credit on it.
Any additional comments?
I'm usually a fan of harlequin romances, not this one. Bottom line - don't waste your money, credit or time.

Hooked from the first!
Revisado: 01-22-16
Where does Cinder & Ella rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Towards the top - definitely. I bought this book on an audible sale, since it was a NA type book I wasn't sure I'd really like it. However, I was hooked from the beginning. I finished it in two days, could hardly put it down. I needed to know what would happen next and how would the author handle it. This is the first time I've read anything from Kelly Oram.
Who was your favorite character and why?
Jacqueline ~ the good step sister. Although I loved Ella & grew to love Cinder. I mostly liked Jacqueline's character because I think in general we all like people to do the right thing at the right time, and we always hope that people will. When the chips were down, Jacqueline came through. No more info here, I don't want to give any spoilers.
What does Kirsten Leigh bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?
Emotion. Kirsten brought tears to my eyes during the sad moments. I enjoyed her voice inflections of the Cinder & Ella, she didn't make them sound to young, but didn't make them sound older either. They sounded like what they were 20ish.
If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?
Is happily every after really possible?
Any additional comments?
Well worth the read. As I listened I constantly wondered how the author would end the book. I kept thinking Ella is 19 and Cinder is 22, there is no way these two could survive a relationship. Ella with the challenges left her from her accident, and Cinder an up and coming hollywood actor learning to be an adult and his own person. I would like to go into more detail here, but don't want to spoil it for anyone. My last comment, I loved that the book was devoid of any sexual scenes, and the language was fairly clean.

Very Hard to Finish !!!
Revisado: 09-24-15
What would have made Power Play better?
A better heroine. Sage, seems to come across as a complete push over. And really ... when dealing with the mafia can anyone be so dumb and clueless. The story had great potential, I just wish Sage would have been written with more something, confidence, assertiveness, she just needed something more.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
It didn't end! I was so aggravated about that. It had a sort of ending. But book 2 picks up right where book 1 ends. Same characters. After 10 hours I'll never get back, I don't think I'll listen to the next one.
What didn’t you like about Laura Hopatcong’s performance?
Hated the narration. Sorry Laura. The dialog between Sage and Megan, a friend at work, always sounded so young adult. The voices sounded like they were barely out of their teenage years. The Ryder & Parker's voices sounded a little to feminine for my taste. I felt the portrayal of both men came across as if they were both jerks.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
Major Disappointment. The story plot has a ton of potential. Mafia, FBI, CIA, Police, love triangle. I just never felt that something for the main characters that we all like to feel.
Any additional comments?
It's possible the narration ruined the book for me. I might buy the second book in the series just to read the ending, if it does end. Before I give up on the narrator, I'll listen to something else she's done. I always like to give narrators and authors a second try before putting them on my no list. I'm not so sure I'll read something by Tiffany Snow again.

Slow and Laid Back Writing & Performance
Revisado: 07-21-15
What disappointed you about Sisters In Love?
Spoiler: Most books have some conflict that has to be overcome by the main characters. The conflicts between Danica and Blake are easily solved and not believable. The same with the conflicts between Danica and her sister Kaylie. I'm drawn into the story expecting major conflicts and issues that need to be overcome. It never happened.
Would you ever listen to anything by Melissa Foster again?
I might. I'll usually try and author at least twice, sometimes three times before giving up.
What didn’t you like about B.J. Harrison’s performance?
Besides reading extremely slowly. I didn't care for the character voices, they always sounded soooo... depressed.
What character would you cut from Sisters In Love?
Not sure I would cut any. All characters seemed to play a role in each character's issues.
Any additional comments?
I will be skipping book 2 of the Snow Sisters. Not worth the credit. I purchased this book on sale. For me - it wasn't worth it.

Read Don't Listen
Revisado: 06-11-15
Would you try another book from Mara Jacobs and/or Emily Beresford?
Definitely not if read by Emily Beresford. Her male voices were awful. They all sounded the same, and did not sound male at all. I might try reading another book written by Mara Jacobs.
What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)
Predictable. But seriously how many times are you going to let a guy dump you and you keep coming back. I had hoped by the end of book that I'd like Finn but didn't. Although I didn't much care for Lizzie either.
How could the performance have been better?
The narration needed better distinction between male characters and a way better male voice.
Could you see Worth the Weight being made into a movie or a TV series? Who should the stars be?
Not without a lot of re-writing.
Any additional comments?
This was the first book I've read (listened to) by Mara Jacobs. The book had potential for a lot of depth. However ever you want something light and easy for distraction this is probably it. Worth the Weight was okay.
