I’m a huge Nick Parog fan, have read everything he’s written. This is by far my favorite. He hits every emotion. I laugh, I cry, I’m sad, I’m happy. What a wonderful author to be able to evoke such a strong response. I’m a forever fan.

I wince whenever Wiggins has to talk. Why does he need that high pitched squeal when he’s well into his twenties. How I wish the books that I love didn’t make me cringe.

Voice of Wiggins has to go

I love the series but agree with some of the reviews about the irritating voice of Wiggins. Good grief, he’s in his twenties. Why does he have such a high pitched screeching voice. I’ve had to take a break from listening on occasion because it gives me a bleeding headache! If I didn’t enjoy the stories so much I would quit listening. It’s ruined me from reading the books because I have that horrid voice embedded in my brain.

After listening for less than half an hour I was about ready to give it up. I like the plot and storyline but the narrator is just too dead. Sound like a bad bot reading a script with no emotion, no inflection, running sentences and phrases together. If this is an incentive to buy more of this author’s books, I’m afraid it will not happen if this narrator reads more of them. Shame, I was looking forward to another series in this genre.

I am such a big Donna Leon fan, and was looking so forward to listening to this book; I had pre-ordered in anticipation. Well, the narration is so absolutely awful that I just cannot listen to it. Very disappointing.

I love to listen to books while I'm driving. Unfortunately, this book will not be on my listening list because I'm afraid I'll fall asleep. Even if the book is good, I'll never know because the performer was so dreadful.

I probably would have liked this book, but the performance was so droll and unemotional I couldn't listen. I made several attempts, but got to the point where I was unable to follow the story line because of that irritating voice.
