Historia
As one of Hollywood's A-listers, I have the movie industry in the palm of my hand. But if I'm going to stay at the top, my playboy image needs an overhaul. No more tabloid headlines. No more parties. And absolutely no more one-night stands. Filming for my latest blockbuster takes place on the coast of Maine, and I'm determined to stay out of trouble. But trouble finds me when I run into Lana Kelly.

Too Much Porn
Revisado: 04-30-25
I wanted a story about Hollywood not a book of porn with a show business backdrop. No, I’m not a prude (that’s what prudes say!) but the repeated and very descriptive sex scenes between the two main characters got to be too much. I just lost interest in the characters and the story.

Historia
Bud Stanley is an obituary writer who is afraid to live. Yes, his wife recently left him for a “far more interesting” man. Yes, he goes on a particularly awful blind date with a woman who brings her ex. And yes, he has too many glasses of Scotch one night and proceeds to pen and publish his own obituary. The newspaper wants to fire him. But now the company’s system has him listed as dead. And the company can’t fire a dead person. The ensuing fallout forces him to realize that life may be actually worth living.

Great start.
Revisado: 04-07-25
Unfortunately all the humor I enjoyed at the beginning of the book was soon gone. The meandering story, such as it is, lost me. Overall a strong start then a big fizzle.

Historia
The case against Lyndon B. Johnson and his role in Kennedy's assassination has never been sounder. LBJ aims to prove that Vice President Johnson played an active role in the assassination of President Kennedy and that he began planning his takeover of the U.S. presidency even before being named the vice presidential nominee in 1960. Nelson's careful and meticulous research has led him to uncover secrets from one of the greatest unsolved mysteries in our country's history.

Where was the editor?
Revisado: 08-17-23
This cinder block of a book is a real challenge to get through. The long first two chapters spew an endless account of Johnson minutia. It’s mind numbing to get through and made more difficult by the lifeless narrator who often sounds like an AI robot. The narrator also mispronounces an astonishing number of words and names.
An editor should have hacked away at the mountain of unneeded bulk in chapters one, two, and even three. There’s just no forward thrust in the writing. An editor or producer could have corrected the narrator’s many goofs.
Sadly, this book could be an essential part of the work that exposes the lone gunman theory as the pure bunk that it is, offering a clear and well researched alternative theory as to who organized and carried out the horrific crime of the century. Instead, LBJ: The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination is a massive mess of a book in desperate need of the discipline and skill needed to tell a complex story in a compelling, clear and informative way.
A big, and I do mean BIG, disappointment.

Historia
Foreword by Noel Blanc, Mel Blanc's son: This is an audiobook for any animation fan, young or old, who might wonder what it would be like to actually work directly with Hollywood's greatest cartoon voice artist: my father, Mel Blanc. Millions continue to celebrate him today as the voice of Bugs Bunny and nearly every other Looney Tunes character, but only a rare handful of people ever got to share time with him. Chuck McKibben was one of those few, and he has created a highly entertaining and surprisingly revealing memoir that will transport you back to the early 1970s.

Mediocre At Best
Revisado: 10-20-22
The author's gee-whiz attitude toward all things Hollywood wears very thin in this disappointing book. If Chuck McKibben had attempted just one more impression of Mel Blanc, Noel Blanc or anyone else, I would have driven off the road just to make it stop. There are points in the book that sound more like a desperate demo reel than any kind of recounting of what it was like to work for the great Mel Blanc. Also maddening is how little the author, who describes himself as a radio broadcaster, voice over talent and long-time New York Producer, actually knows about any of these areas of expertise. Pass on this and try Mel Blanc's Autobiography.

Historia
Does the idea of talking in public speaking fill you with dread? What are you going to say? How are you going to say it? Will you stumble over your words? Will the audience understand and what if they don't like you? Whether it's standing up in a meeting at work, making a speech at a wedding or just talking normally while others listen - public speaking is the most common fear and the majority of people will try to get out of it or "get it over with" as quickly as possible.

Not very informative and terrible audio quality!
Revisado: 03-19-12
Would you try another book from Ed Percival and/or the narrator?
Done with the distorted, headache-inducing audio that you sell. Simply dreadful.
Any additional comments?
Why don't you improve the audio??? It just makes no sense to run a company THAT IS AUDIO, with dreadful audio!

Awful Audio Quality Ruins Another Title

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
I wouldn't recommend anything from Audible. If you can't deliver acceptable (even by the lowest possible standards) audio then why even be in the business of selling audio?
