Historia
Two years after the death of the Earl of Riverdale, his family has overcome the shame of being stripped of their titles and fortune - except for his onetime countess, Viola. With her children grown and herself no longer part of the social whirl of the ton, she is uncertain where to look for happiness - until quite by accident her path crosses once again with that of the Marquess of Dorchester, Marcel Lamarr.

Needed time to get to like the main characters.
Revisado: 05-04-18
The hero is shallow and hard to like when the story begins. It took about four chapters to warm to him. The poor heroin has been through enough from her first husband that you wonder what she sees in Marcel.

It's funny, well read and well written.
Revisado: 05-14-17
Where does Because of Miss Bridgerton rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
It's one of Julia Quinn's best reads. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
Who was your favorite character and why?
The heroine is spunky and yet intelligent. Her hero is one of the more believable men in romance novels
Have you listened to any of Rosalyn Landor’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
Rosalyn Landor always does a great job. Her many voices are perfect for this book.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I listened to the book in one sitting and didn't want it to end.

Historia
Augusta Ballinger was quite sure that it was all a dreadful mistake. The chillingly pompous and dangerously disturbing Earl of Graystone could not possibly wish to marry her. Why, it was rumored that his chosen bride must be a veritable model of virtue. And everyone knew that Augusta, as the last of the wild, reckless Northumberland Ballingers, was a woman who could not be bothered by society's rules.

Good story, Great narration.

Unlike previous reviewer I liked the way Anne Flosnik narrated this story. Although the Northumberland Ballinger theme was overdone the story holds it's own.

Historia
There was no doubt about it. What Miss Harriet Pomeroy needed was a man. Someone powerful and clever who could help her rout the unscrupulous thieves who were using her beloved caves to hide their loot. But when Harriet summoned Gideon Westbrook Viscount St. Justin to her aid, she could not know that she was summoning the devil himself.

Revisado: 03-08-15
The heroine is not a victim. The hero is not so handsome that he's unbelievable. The story is fast moving and captivating. Even if you do not like romance novels, you should read this one. It is not a follow a format book. The main characters are like old friends, I love to revisit.

The story continues and the magic is there but the narrator seems to hate the story. I've tried to listen to this twice and was really sorry the tale was crushed by the teller.

Written with style and skill, a very lovely story
Revisado: 02-13-14
I highly recommend this book and it's author. The characters keep you interested and the story is compelling. This book is part murder mystery but what keeps you fascinated is finding more about the main character, Maura. She is seeking a place in her world and finding Ireland in the process. The narrator is perfect and does an amazing job.

Mystery readers beware.
Revisado: 08-26-13
This fantasy stuck in the middle ages is not what you'd expect from the author of the Peter Shandy mysteries. Going on and on in a middle ages fantasy is not what you want Dr. Shandy to be involved in. Sorry. I really like this mystery series but this story does not belong. My recommendation is read it if you want but I was very disappointed.

A detective story with class

The setting in a small agricultural school and the humor of the professor turned unwilling detective make this book a great read. Add a little romance and you have it all.
