My secret is out. Everyone knows who I am. I don't have to hide. That should be a relief. Instead, it brings new problems. Things went fast, and people got killed. Now I need to rescue my best friend. We're going into the Dark-World. We're going to get her back. And I don't care who stands in my way. If I need to, I will go through them. She's my family, they are my family. Nobody touches my family.

The fantastic Five
Revisado: 08-04-20
The story has a good plot that delivers. However, the romance was unrealistic. So much so that I would call it lust instead of romance.
Pure fantasy. I suppose that’s the idea but it was hard for me to connect to its characters. Issa is very hypocritical and selfish in her relationships with the kings. Although, the author tried really hard to sell the idea that this is love, it really isn’t. Very ambitious. Complete failure.
WARNING: SPOILER ALERT!
I was not prepared for their so called ménage à trois or six! It’s steamy if you’re into the bisexual orgy type. If not, just zip through it. The story is well worth it.
I wanted to finish this story and glad I did. I just wish Serena didn’t try so hard to sell her idea of love when it clearly wasn’t. It was like she kept trying to push it on her readers trying to convert us. Awkward.
I am looking forward to the next novel in spite of this. Like I said before, the story is good. Doesn’t have to be perfect, but good where it counts in substance of plot.
Narration was good but I don’t understand why Troy Duran gets only cameo spots when his voice is so sexy. It’s like a teaser. Very frustrating! Better to leave him out if there’s only three spotlights in the entire audio. Kendall does a fantastic job and sufficient for the task. I can visualize each character through her skillful voice adaptation. Excellent performance!

I have a secret and I'm going to tell you. I'm the last full-blood witch. I'm the last Savill royal. I'm the heir to a throne four kings rule the world from. I told my secret twice now, to you and my best friend. Now it is time to keep that secret again. Because if they knew I was still alive, it would mean losing my freedom. Maybe even my life. Only for me to end up in the wrong place. Their place.

Just like my coffee, Hot and Delicious!
Revisado: 08-01-20
My very first Serena Nova novel. Delightfully delicious. It’s like slow brew in the romance arena but when it gets hot, it’s steamy.
It’s bittersweet though, in the lead character. Issa, she’s strong in most instances but then weak in lesser moments which is frustrating. No consistency.
I also wish I could hear more of Troy Duran’s narration. His voice just melts in your mouth and you’ll want more of that deep dark infusion. Yum!
Overall, this audiobook is worth a purchase. There is a cliffhanger at the end. I’ve already bought the next sequel and can’t wait to hear what adventures await Issa and the four kings!

Historia
Del Sol, New Mexico is known for three things: its fry-an-egg-on-the-cement summers, its strong cups of coffee - and, now, a nationwide manhunt? Del Sol native Sunshine Vicram has returned to town as the elected sheriff - thanks to her adorably meddlesome parents who nominated her - and she expects her biggest crime wave to involve an elderly flasher named Doug. But a teenage girl is missing, a kidnapper is on the loose, and all of this is reminding Sunshine why she left Del Sol in the first place.

Best of Both Worlds
Revisado: 04-13-20
When you listen to a great story with an illustrative narrator, you’ll have a stimulating experience that words cannot express alone. It’s a spiritual journey of laughter, seesaw emotions and intriguing suspense all in one!
I have read and listened to many of Darynda’s novels and they have a similar hum that I will never get tired of. Her heroine, Sunny, has the same sass, wit and humor as Charli (from the Grave series). Upstanding characters with a flair that draws you to instantly love them. I always look for Darynda’s latest and she doesn’t disappoint.
Of course, Lorelei, narrating her books brings them to life! She keeps the perfect pace. Her tenor doesn’t drag and she consistently identifies each characters’ style. You will never have to guess which character is being projected. I am always amazed at her skills.
Overall, without any spoilers, Sunny (Sunshine), is a woman that can be related to. This is no paranormal romance like Darynda’s Grave series, but still as hot and I’m left wanting more! There’s a roller coaster of emotions you’ll go through and NEVER a dull moment. This audiobook is definitely worth a purchase or credit. And it is a KEEPER. One I’ll definitely listen to again.
I want more of Levi and Sunny, that’s all I’ll say without spoiling it. I love every character in this story and will have the HARDEST time waiting for the next book!

Sass and spunk fun!
Revisado: 03-28-18
Darynda has a way with words. Charley Davidson is still as delightful as ever! Lorelei King brings Charley to life and narrates all of the characters with such aplomb. It's hard to believe that it's one person narrating each character. Truly with my credit and even a purchase!
SPOILER ALERT!!!
The only thing is how it seemed too simple for Reyes to transition back to himself… somewhat. He's a combination of all three personalities.
Wonderful cliffhanger tho. Looking forward to the Thirteenth Grave!

Lizzy and Diesel are back in a wicked adventure from Janet Evanovich and Emmy Award–winning co-author Phoef Sutton. Before he was murdered and mummified nearly a century ago, notorious bootlegger Collier “Peg Leg” Dazzle discovered and re-hid a famous pirate’s treasure somewhere along the coast of New England. A vast collection of gold and silver coins and precious gems, the bounty also contains the Stone of Avarice—the very item reluctant treasure seeker Lizzy Tucker and her partner, Diesel, have been enlisted to find.

Captivatingly Charming
Revisado: 04-02-17
This Wicked series has been absolutely endearing. With Lorelei King narrating she has brought it to life. Their writing styles are very similar to the Darynda Jones's Grave series, but that could just be my opinion since King narrates for both authors. The voices King uses for the two series' heroin and characters are the same so at first it was a bit off-putting but delightful all the same.
Certainly worth purchasing or a credit.

Frost and Gilbert doesn't disappoint
Revisado: 03-08-17
Frost's notable writing skills and Gilbert's exemplary performance always delivers. Fun. Intrigue. Mystery. Action. Romance. This story is well balance. I rode on an emotional roller coaster throughout this book and I couldn't put it down.
I really do hope that this isn't the last we've heard of Leila and Vlad. They certainly could expand the story to include her sister Gretchen and Maxamus. Lets not forget her mysterious 10xs plus great-grandmother.
This book is well worth purchasing or a credit. Highly recommended!

Nail biting ending
Revisado: 02-15-17
I will only write a review if a book is horribly fantastic or amazingly dreadful. I will not be a spoiler but what I can say is that this story is AMAZING! The Jones and King duo does it again. The plot flows smoothly (must read previous books in series to follow). Excitement, mystery, laughter, sorrow, anger, laughter. So many emotions. So much intrigue. A curious ending.
I just love Charley. She's quirky and a miss sassafras that you'll love instantly. Surrounded by friends and families you just wish you had. (well, except for her stepmother of course. They're always evil right?!) Her relationship with hot and steamy Reyes is what we dream of (except for Edward. Always team Edward!). They are one of my top 5 couples. I've got Reyes and Charley; Edward and Bella (blech. Edward saved her in this ranking); Cat and Bones; Leila and Vladimir; and Astrid and Ethan. You won't regret investing your credit or purchase of this audiobook.
Lorelei's interpretation of the characters' voices were spot on. I forgot that it was only one narrator transitioning between men and women. She is phenomenal.
As for my headline of this review i can say this. You will not expect it but you'll yearn for the next book. I'm eager to see how Darynda works her next story out. I don't want to wait!

Historia
Life in Lake Eden, Minnesota, is usually pleasantly uneventful. Lately, though, it seems everyone has more than their fair share of drama to manage. With so much on her plate, Hannah Swensen can barely find the time to think about her bakery - let alone the town's most recent murder... Hannah is nervous about the upcoming trial for her involvement in a tragic accident. She's eager to clear her name once and for all, but her troubles only double when she finds the judge bludgeoned to death with his own gavel.

Hannah is a mess
Revisado: 08-03-16
SPOILER ALERT! Hannah is a mess. I understand this has been a long time dream for readers to see Hannah finally settle down but, I never saw this coming. This love triangle is warped. How does the new character (well partially new) suddenly arrive as a serious love interest? It seemed pretty obvious that Norman would be the one she eventually end up with. However, Ross seems to steal the scene. Hannah gives her heart and soul to her old college friend quite quickly. She has been so cautious in the past. It seems quite out of character and convenient for the writer. Then suddenly, Hannah is unsure again?! What a conundrum.
On another note in regards to the mystery, how could Anna be the prime suspect of the murder case? Being bludgeoned to death by a gavel would surely leave blood splatters all over the killer's clothing. Since Hannah was present in finding the body and her attorney met her soon after the crime scene was discovered, wouldn't it be common sense for the witnesses to notice this? Hannah is intelligent, why didn't she think of it? Another convenience. The murder mystery was interesting but not plausible with Hannah as a prime suspect.
I feel that Hannah's cat, Moisha, is a distraction to the story and unnecessary. Adding a mystery to her cat's peculiar ways has no relevance to the plot. It would be impressive to connect it somehow. Other than that, omit it.
However, my disgruntled review does not change my love for the Hannah Swenson series. I will continue reading on in hopes for improvement.

No plot, just sex
Revisado: 07-21-16
Same old same old immortal match making with Atlantean nanonites with no conclusion of who the underground immortal kidnappers are. If you're gonna have a mystery it has to lead somewhere. I've been following the series and unfortunately Lyndsay Sands must have writer's block because she can't finish the suspense.
I doubt I'll stay on this train. The story line isn't going anywhere but introducing new life mates and sex. There's no substance. I'll use my credit to better use.

This plot is dragging this love story to death. Hannah is irritating. Does she think she's the only one that can date 2 people at once?! Mike and Norman should move on already. She's too finicky and indecisive. Let's move this story on please?!
