Historia
For more than 30 years, Phillip Maisel has worked selflessly to record the harrowing stories of Holocaust survivors. Volunteering at Melbourne's Jewish Holocaust Centre, Phillip has listened tirelessly to their memories, preserved their voices and proven, time and time again, just how healing storytelling can be. Each testimony of survival is a miracle in itself - earning Phillip the nickname 'the Keeper of Miracles'.

Wow! Incredibly insightful book!

I don’t write reviews very often but felt compelled to write one after listening to this book. Phillip has a remarkable ability to make the reader feel like they are part of his story by giving such brilliant depth and insight into not just his experiences, but his mindset at every stage. Not only does Phillip display extraordinary courage through unimaginable horrors but his ability to recognise and recount the moments of humanity from total strangers that saved his life on many occasions is really inspiring. That was the big take away from the book for me - the importance of displaying acts of kindness for your fellow human being, no matter what the situation. If there can be such acts of humanity in what was undoubtedly one of history’s darkest periods, it gives hope for future generations to believe that kindness and humanity can triumph over evil. A 5 star book with a pertinent and inspiring message.
