Historia
Early morning, August 1975: a camp counselor discovers an empty bunk. Its occupant, Barbara Van Laar, has gone missing. Barbara isn’t just any thirteen-year-old: she’s the daughter of the family that owns the summer camp and employs most of the region’s residents. And this isn’t the first time a Van Laar child has disappeared. Barbara’s older brother similarly vanished fourteen years ago, never to be found.

Historia
On an island off the coast of Ireland, guests gather to celebrate two people joining their lives together as one. The groom: handsome and charming, a rising television star. The bride: smart and ambitious, a magazine publisher. It’s a wedding for a magazine or for a celebrity: the designer dress, the remote location, the luxe party favors, the boutique whiskey. The cell phone service may be spotty and the waves may be rough, but every detail has been expertly planned and will be expertly executed.

Great storytelling. The build took me a bit to get into, but worth it for the overall story experience! The different narrators are excellent.

Great message!

Great message and delivery. Easy to listen to as I did chores and walked the dog. I have begun identifying my tasks/goals around the wagon metaphor and it’s bringing me additional clarity and focus.

Historia
January 1946: London is emerging from the shadow of the Second World War, and writer Juliet Ashton is looking for her next book subject. Who could imagine that she would find it in a letter from a man she’s never met, a native of the island of Guernsey, who has come across her name written inside a book by Charles Lamb.... As Juliet and her new correspondent exchange letters, Juliet is drawn into the world of this man and his friends - and what a wonderfully eccentric world it is.

I read this book a long time ago in print and my book club wanted to read it so I decided to listen to the audible on a road trip. Fantastic! The different narrators add so much life to the book- they are all wonderful! I might listen to it again ❤️

Historia
John Crist wasn’t always recognizable as “the guy from that hilarious video in the grocery store.” Growing up part of a homeschool family of ten in rural Georgia with Mennonite grandparents and a high-school job at Chick-fil-A, he was an unlikely candidate for internet fame. Despite all that, or perhaps because of it, Crist passionately pursued his dream of stand-up comedy. In Delete That, Crist takes responsibility for his actions, offers some reflections on how to do better, and encourages us all to stop capitulating to the fear of “But what will they think?!”

Been a fan for years- great story
Revisado: 01-11-23
Been a big fan since one of the first viral videos! Love his honesty in his story and listening to it is like a super long podcast. Great listen for anyone, particularly a Christian who has been through some heavy “battle with the self” challenges themselves. Congrats John!

Great book and great narrator!
Revisado: 06-26-16
Very engaging narrator who brings the book to life. I loved the real life stories. Fascinating! Hope to apply it to my life today! I really could not stop listening to it. If you enjoy Malcolm Gladwell, this is in the spirit of him, but with a more self-improvement and application spin. Loved it!
