Great Story - Outstanding Performance
Revisado: 05-12-24
The story of Musashi is timeless. All the more when performed by an outstanding reader. Based on the performance, this is one of the most enjoyable Audible books I’ve had. I highly recommend the Audible book to you.

Historia
In 2014, northeastern Syria might have been the last place you would expect to find a revolution centered on women's rights. But that year, an all-female militia faced off against ISIS in a little town few had ever heard of: Kobani. By then, the Islamic State had swept across vast swaths of the country, taking town after town and spreading terror as the civil war burned all around it. From that unlikely showdown in Kobani emerged a fighting force that would wage war against ISIS across northern Syria alongside the United States.

Historia
Vietnam became the Western world’s most divisive modern conflict, precipitating a battlefield humiliation for France in 1954, then a vastly greater one for the US in 1975. Max Hastings has spent the past three years interviewing scores of participants on both sides, as well as researching a multitude of American and Vietnamese documents and memoirs, to create an epic narrative of an epic struggle. Here are the vivid realities of strife amid jungle and paddies that killed two million people.

A PANORAMIC MUST READ
Revisado: 03-04-22
A PANORAMIC VIEW. The author Max Hastings is a prolific writer of profound historical books. He brings his expertise to the subject of Vietnam and does not disappoint with this panoramic historical review. This is a must read on the subject of the Vietnam wars, but most particularly the American war in Vietnam. The narrator using British English “mispronounces,” to this American English speaker’s ears, several names, which is a slight annoyance. I highly recommend this book.

Historia
In 1994, a team led by fossil-hunting legend Tim White—"the Steve Jobs of paleoanthropology"—uncovered the bones of a human ancestor in Ethiopia's Afar region. The findings challenged many assumptions about human evolution and repudiated a half-century of paleoanthropological orthodoxy. An intriguing tale of scientific discovery, obsession and rivalry that moves from the sun-baked desert of Africa to modern high-tech labs and academic lecture halls, Fossil Men is popular science at its best, and a must-listen for fans of Jared Diamond, Richard Dawkins, and Edward O. Wilson.

FABULOUS INSIGHT INTO THE HIDDEN WARS AMONG PALEONTOLOGISTS
Revisado: 04-26-21
Lous Leakey and the famous Leakey family; you know about them right? Do you know about Tim White? Remember the Time-Life books on anthropology with it’s famous image of the various hominids, (or hominin if you prefer) in purported chronological order of evolution? For those of us that do, or those of that were ever interested or curious in Anthropology (no Paleontology) this is the fascinating update now 4.5 million years into our past, with all the infighting, speculation, honesty and dishonesty of the discipline.

NARRATOR HOLLERS
Revisado: 08-30-19
The book is excellent. The narrator is horrible. The narrator is constantly speaking as if he is yelling. It is impossible to listen to the book being read for purposes of prayer and peace when the narrator is yelling.

Historia
Delta Force—the US Army’s most elite top-secret strike force. They dominate the modern battlefield, but you won’t hear about their heroics on CNN. No headlines can reveal their top-secret missions, and no book has ever taken readers inside—until now. Here, a founding member of Delta Force takes us behind the veil of secrecy and into the action to reveal the never-before-told story of First Special Forces Operational Detachment-D (Delta Force).

Good Book, Wrong Narrator
Revisado: 08-30-19
Haney’s story is compelling and revealing. I strongly recommend it to those interested in modern military history, particularly regarding special forces. The story is well written. The choice of narrator is my only reservation about this Audible voice performance. The narrator’s voice did not suit the story. Nonetheless, I do recommend the Audible book.

With authoritative reporting honed through eight presidencies from Nixon to Obama, author Bob Woodward reveals in unprecedented detail the harrowing life inside President Donald Trump’s White House and precisely how he makes decisions on major foreign and domestic policies. Woodward draws from hundreds of hours of interviews with firsthand sources, meeting notes, personal diaries, files, and documents. The focus is on the explosive debates and the decision-making in the Oval Office, the Situation Room, Air Force One, and the White House residence.

CHAOS IN THE WHITE HOUSE UNDER TRUMP PRESIDENCY
Revisado: 11-14-18
Written by famous author and newspaper reporter Bob Woodward. Given his reputation you know he dug deep for the story. It simply shows and confirms what many believe - that there is utter chaos in the Trump White House. A good read for students of modern politics. #ModernWorkplace #Provocative #Trump #WhiteHouse #TrumpWe'reInTrouble #tagsgiving #sweepstakes

WONDERFUL BOOK, HORRIBLE NARRATOR
Revisado: 04-19-18
The Book (the books of the New Testament) is wonderful. The narrator, Kelly Ryan Dolan, ruins the whole experience by screaming at you. His “dramatic” approach fails completely. Instead of producing the blessing of Scripture, the narrator produces headaches. If I am overstating the narration, at a minimum, it is extremely difficult to listen to because of the narrator. Therefore, if listening to the narration is difficult, how can one receive the blessings that flow from the words?
Then there is the music, which in my opinion is a poor choice, and only serves to enhance the difficulty to listen.
