Revisado: 04-04-19
Love these stories when I first read them years ago and are even better read by Mrs. Rosenblat. She has the perfect voice for Mrs. Pollifax and the best male voices I've heard.

Thoroughly enjoyed!
Revisado: 11-17-17
I never tire listening to the dialogue between Sherlock Holmes and John Watson. Simon Vance is the perfect narrator. I could actually picture the characters just by his voice. And not once did I even get annoyed at his female voices. The stories were short but very entertaining.

Love everything Sherlock Holmes
Revisado: 01-03-17
This book was definitely worth a credit. If time would have allowed, I would have listened in a day. Though the story is not Christmasy per se, it does happen during the holiday and was just what I was looking for. The voices for the three main male characters, Sherlock, Watson and Mycroft were all distinguishable and very well done. The one main female characters voice took a little time to get used to but was not irritating to hear.

Just couldn't finish....
Revisado: 08-24-16
I wanted to continue to the end and find out what happened, but I struggled to stay awake. The story just seemed to keep dragging on about nothing. The narrators have great voices, but at times I think they may have been trying to sound "country" . It was just annoying.

Just couldn't continue..
Revisado: 06-30-16
The story idea seems like a great one. Family trying to survive, son trying to get back to his family. But...there really was no story. It just kept jumping back and forth and I kept thinking, "what happened.?" The narrators voice is the same for all the characters so I never really knew who was saying what.

Why we think it’s a great listen: Seabiscuit was a runaway success, and Hillenbrand’s done it again with another true-life account about beating unbelievable odds. On a May afternoon in 1943, an Army Air Forces bomber crashed into the Pacific Ocean and disappeared, leaving only a spray of debris and a slick of oil, gasoline, and blood. Then, on the ocean surface, a face appeared....
