Historia
From one of the country’s most recognizable journalists: How becoming a grandmother transforms a woman’s life. After four decades as a reporter, Lesley Stahl’s most vivid and transformative experience of her life was not covering the White House, interviewing heads of state, or researching stories at 60 Minutes. It was becoming a grandmother. She was hit with a jolt of joy so intense and unexpected, she wanted to “investigate” it - as though it were a news flash.

The Joy and Impact of Grandparenting: A Heartfelt Exploration
Revisado: 10-17-24
Leslie Stahl’s Becoming Grandma is a delightful and heartwarming collection of stories that takes readers through the emotional journey of becoming a grandparent. From family and friends to famous leaders and celebrities, Stahl explores how the arrival of a grandchild deeply affects grandparents, not only emotionally but also healthwise. The book is rich with interesting data on the powerful bond between grandparents and grandchildren, illustrating the significant impact this relationship can have on both generations.
I found this book to be incredibly relatable, funny, informative, and inspiring. It’s a must-read for anyone, as it beautifully captures the dynamics of a grandparent’s thoughts, behaviors, and emotions, providing a deeper understanding of how grandparenthood reshapes our outlook on family and legacy. I thoroughly enjoyed it and highly recommend it to others.

Historia
Something’s gone wrong in the Land of the Free and the Home of the Brave. We can all feel it, but if we’re being honest, most of us don’t understand it. At the end of the day, we don’t have all the facts, and if you don’t know how something works, how do you fix it? A Return to Common Sense is a concise, no-nonsense, dare we say fun, guide to how America works and a roadmap to reclaiming a government of, by, and for the people.

A Clear and Unflinching Look at American History - Should be Required Reading for Schools
Revisado: 09-22-24
In this powerful and compelling work, Leigh McGowan tackles the often-fluffed-over truths of American history, shedding light on the dark realities that many textbooks tend to gloss over. With clarity and precision, she delves into critical moments of the past, exposing the often overlooked struggles, injustices, and complexities that have shaped the nation.
One of the most impressive aspects of this book is the way the author breaks down the amendments to the Constitution. She defines and explains their meaning with such directness and simplicity, making them accessible to all readers, whether you’re familiar with legal jargon or not. Her analysis cuts through the noise and offers a deeper understanding of how these laws impact everyday life.
What makes this book even more engaging is the author’s presentation. It’s not just a dry recounting of facts—her writing is thought-provoking, clear, and direct. At times, it’s surprisingly funny, which adds a refreshing balance to the heavier topics she addresses. Her ability to inspire readers to think critically about the past and how it continues to influence the present is remarkable.
I highly recommend this book to everyone, regardless of their knowledge of American history. It’s a must-read for anyone who wants an honest, unvarnished look at the country’s past and a deeper understanding of its foundational laws.

Historia
Anthony Fauci is arguably the most famous–and most revered–doctor in the world today. His role guiding America sanely and calmly through Covid (and through the torrents of Trump) earned him the trust of millions during one of the most terrifying periods in modern American history, but this was only the most recent of the global epidemics in which Dr. Fauci played a major role. His crucial role in researching HIV and bringing AIDS into sympathetic public view and his leadership in navigating the Ebola, SARS, West Nile, and anthrax crises, make him truly an American hero.

Historical, intelligent, passionate and empathetic
Revisado: 09-08-24
Learning how Dr Fauci described how he and his team discovered and worked tirelessly on attacking the different epidemics throughout his career was profound and remarkable. Learning about his childhood and his roots were inspiring. I found the chapters on Covid particularly interesting and eye opening. Dr Fauci is a leader who is strategic, compassionate, collaborative, courageous and resilient. Kudos to his wife Christine, for being there for him through the tumultuous times of the Covid pandemic. Thank you Dr Fauci for your service! God bless you and your family. A must read!

A wonderful and comprehensive guide for all mothers. The narrator was enjoyable and kept my attention. I got this book as a new grandmother and shared it with my daughter who just had her first child. I highly recommend this book. Thank you!
