Historia
As a deputy commissioner for the ICC, Alan Decker’s job is to make sure the settlements on LV178 follow all the rules, keeping the colonists safe. But the planet known as New Galveston holds secrets, lurking deep beneath the toxic sands dubbed the Sea of Sorrows. The Weyland-Yutani Corporation has secrets of its own, as Decker discovers when he is forced to join a team of mercenaries sent to investigate an ancient excavation. Somewhere in that long-forgotten dig lies the thing the company wants most in the universe - a living Xenomorph.

A thrilling tale of exploitation and survival
Revisado: 12-29-23
The story hit all my boxes for business enterprise level clan destine research for military biomechanics and for sci fi horror. The good guys (aliens) always win. Sometimes, the humans make it out alive.

Historia
Eighteen-year-old Celaena Sardothien is bold, daring and beautiful - the perfect seductress and the greatest assassin her world has ever known. But though she won the king’s contest and became his champion, Celaena has been granted neither her liberty nor the freedom to follow her heart. Celaena faces a choice that is tearing her to pieces: kill in cold blood for a man she hates or risk sentencing those she loves to death.

So good
Revisado: 11-12-23
I liked the emotions and the world filled with darkness. The duality of darkness (light). A great sequel book to a fun start off in to a world of human hubris and the immortality of magic. Any time there’s a really dark and sinister antagonist I’m locked in to the plot and the king as well as Baba Gold Legs both fit the bill of dark and wicked. The protagonist 18 year old assassin provides so much of a relatable character with her dark past and darker future. The small shred of honor and goodness inside the assassin allow for her to stay connected to something other than a feral and blood thirsty animal. She has a vendetta that she must reckon with before she can be free to pursue life on her own terms. I loved the book and would recommend it to anyone who read the first book and wants to see what happens next.

Predictable but really fun
Revisado: 10-27-23
Good source for dopamine as the protagonist is very endearing and the challenges are well thought out. The plot is predictable but I get a kick out of the following the protagonist and his over arching story.

Historia
The sand-blasted world of Arrakis has become green, watered, and fertile. Old Paul Atreides, who led the desert Fremen to political and religious domination of the galaxy, is gone. But for the children of Dune, the very blossoming of their land contains the seeds of its own destruction. The altered climate is destroying the giant sandworms, and this in turn is disastrous for the planet's economy.

I loved the audio
Revisado: 08-20-23
The story was an unqualified classic. I loved it. My first time through. I wished they would have had multiple speakers for the dramatic effect but the main reader did a 5-star presentation so no criticism there.

In the Third Age, an Age of Prophecy, the World and Time themselves hang in the balance. What was, what will be, and what is, may yet fall under the Shadow.

So rich and so captivating
Revisado: 11-23-22
I liked the gray behind every character. Sanderson and Jordan Vulcan mind-melded a masterpiece in the first volume (1st part of 3) with this book.
