So so good!!
Revisado: 09-21-19
Everything about this book is phenomenal! The narrator was hands down one of the best I've heard! Bramhall writes humorous, flirty dialogue between the characters. I loved them and loved them together. The action in the second half of the book kept me up late to finish the book.

Historia
Two years after surviving their ordeal at the hands of white supremacists, Alex Pascal and Sarah Kent have new identities, new careers, and a new home together. The FBI warned them to keep their heads down, and a small town in Maine seems like the perfect place to do this, until a chance occurrence sets in motion a chain of events that no one could have predicted. With enemies closing in and friends turning their backs, Alex and Sarah find themselves fighting not only for their freedom, but for their lives.

This book brings back the characters Sarah and Alex from Desolation Point. They've moved on with their lives, but they have to watch their backs. As with Desolation Point, the action doesn't disappoint and these women - esp. Sarah - are extremely tough. I think this could be a stand alone book but it is missing the backstory of the trauma sustained before and during the Desolation Point book, I'm glad I listened to this after Desolation Point. Nicola, as usual, was brilliant. I'm glad she didn't try the Maine accent. No one, except a Mainer, can speak that way convincingly.

Excellent!
Revisado: 05-21-19
I love Cari Hunter books. I haven't listened to one that I didn't love. This one (and the next in the series) is different than her other books because it takes place in the US. It's an exciting book about two women that go way past what they thought they could handle to survive. Lots of action with a romance underneath. While I might reluctantly agree that Nicola Victoria Vincent isn't the best at American accents and occasionally says some words differently than Americans do, I still love her narration and won't say anything bad about her.

I found this in the Romance Package. It isn't a romance. and I almost didn't listen because the summary listed a bombing in the London Underground and I like to escape in books. Bombings in the underground are not escapes for me. But . . something in the summary tweaked my curiosity and I gave it a listen. I think I needed to know how a London bombing, DNA remains, Bergen-Belsen and a cold case were all linked. They were. In a long twisting tale of two families. I listened on a long drive and it was perfect for that. I'm not going to lie. I cried. More than once. Hiccuping sobs. The passage comparing lost love to a skipping stone made my heart hurt. The characters were all very alive to me. I cared about them despite their flaws and failures. This isn't a laugh out loud, everyone is good and makes the right decisions and they all live happily ever after story. But it was good. really really good. The narrator was fabulous! I will look for more by the author and narrator.

Historia
Mallory Spencer is in charge. As the face of Soho Savvy, the advertising firm she owns with her three best friends, it's important that she's poised, polished, and put together. However, as she watches her friends couple up and settle down, she wonders about her own happily ever after. One thing's for sure. It's not going to happen with that blue-eyed bartender from Showplace. It's irritatingly clear they couldn't be more wrong for each other...or have more chemistry.

Historia
Top neurosurgeon Samantha Thomson needs to get married fast and is tightlipped as to why. And with over $200,000 on offer to tie the knot, no questions asked, cash-strapped ER nurse Hayden Perez isn't about to demand answers. The deal is only for a year of marriage, but Hayden's going into it knowing it will be a nightmare. Sam is complicated, rude, kind of cold, and someone Hayden barely tolerates at work, let alone wants to marry. The hardest part is that Hayden has to convince everyone around them that they're madly in love and that racing down the aisle is all they've ever wanted.

Historia
With the arrival of Courtney Carrington, Margaret's youth sparked into color. But first loves can scar. Margaret hasn't seen Courtney in years and that's for the best. But when Courtney loses her father and returns to Tanner Peak to take control of the family store, Margaret comes face-to-face with her past and the woman she's tried desperately to forget. The fact that Courtney has grown up more beautiful than ever certainly doesn't help matters.

This was an excellent book. The narrator, however, missed the mark with Maggie. The voice/inflection was not Maggie . There was a little question to her sentences that I didn't think fit the character. The intimate moments were lacking the softness in her voice that was needed. This was a wonderful story though. I recommend it.
