I love this story even more now!

Offside has been one of my favorite books and comfort reads since I first read it in 2022. The audio production and performance made me love it even more! The voice actors brought Bailey and Chase to life and matched their personalities to a tee! I loved everything about this audio!

Ana Huang's stories are always full of angst, heartbreak, and great redemption stories, and this one is no different. I loved the building of Farrah and Blake's relationship. It never felt rushed and their timeline fit their situation. Then the heartbreaking conclusion of book 1 wrecked me. It's the perfect set up for book 2 however.

Best Audiobook EVER

There hasn't been an audiobook that I've enjoyed more. Both narrators pulled me into the story and made me feel like I was in the room with them (which we all know they would enjoy lol).

Elena Wolfe and Jacob Morgan brought Josh & Aly to life. They brought such personality and passion to their characters. I truly enjoyed their performance!

King of the Slow Burn

This was a solid 4 star listen/read for me!

I've always enjoyed CW Farnsworth's writing style and that still holds true with King of Country. Hearing Andi Arndt as Piper and Zachary Webber as Kyle Spencer, was so fun. I felt like both did a wonderful job of bringing each character to life and fully embodied their characters.

I'm not typically a fan of a slow burn but in this case it fit the characters and story line, and was performed in a way where I could feel the tension growing between Piper and Kyle. The banter was top notch and had my laughing out loud.

I love it when characters truly connect and understand each other and take the time to listen and remember the smallest of details shared. Kyle is one of those characters and he commits some absolutely adorable actions for Piper that are the definition of thoughtful.

As always, I believe the audiobook could be enhanced if it were performed in duet style; the banter and tension would be 10 times as strong in my opinion if this were in duet. However, I still loved Zachary and Andi's performances!

What I loved most about each story was that the voice actors brought each character to life. I absolutely love duet and full cast style audiobooks and these were no different. It was easy to follow along with the story and each voice actor was memorable.

Audio Perfection

Teddy Hamilton and Savannah Peachwood do an amazing job at bringing Skylar and West to life and do Elsie's story justice. Also, the touch of having the original songs written and performed...OUT OF THIS WORLD BRILLIANT.

I never thought I could love another Elsie man the way that I love Cade Eaton, then here comes Weston freaking Belmont.

West is so much more than he lets everyone see. Yes he's a devoted dad, yes he likes to have a good time, but that man is so scared of everyone leaving him that he doesn't let anyone get close. Then he saves the country music star from being attacked by a bear and he might just change his mind on letting a woman get close.

Skylar has never been truly loved. She has never known the definition of a supportive family. She's figuring out that her life has never truly been hers, but she's starting to take it back. She's determined to go to Rose Hill Records and work with Ford Grant on an album that is solely hers. She wants to be authentically herself, once she discovers who that is, and she's going to start by letting her fans see her out with nature and the oh so cute mama bear and her cubs....

I don't think Elsie has written two characters who needed the other more than Skylar and West need each other. The way that West understands what Skylar needs to start truly living and to deal with this crushing anxiety is special.

I firmly believe that the audiobook is the correct choice in the way to read Wild Eyes. The performances by everyone involved truly brought this story to life, and I absolutely LOVED the original songs!

Graphic Audio For The Win

Overall this book is a 4 out of 5 but listening to the graphic audio...out of this world. Even my husband, who is not a fan of the books I read (lol), was intrigued by the graphic audiobook. He kept saying, "are you reading an action book? This sounds like an action movie!"

I highly recommend listening to the graphic audio version of this book!

What A Ride

I should know by now that the last 100 pages of any SJM book will be intense and heart shredding. There was SO much that happened in this book.

Bryce Quinlan and Hunt Athalar are trying to live as normal a life as they can months after their actions have made them celebrities in Crescent City. However, fate, or someone else, has different plans for them.

New governors, arranged marriages, lone wolves, undercover agents, Princes of Hel, and of course the Asteri. House of Sky and Breath is an amazing follow of book and bridge to the next.

I love the way the narrator depicts each character that I'm able to distinguish between them in my mind. There is so much emotion put into her performance that pulls you in and puts you in the world.
