Historia
Al MacBharrais has a most unusual job: He’s a practitioner of ink-and-sigil magic, tasked with keeping order among the gods and monsters that dwell hidden in the human world. But there’s one supernatural mystery he’s never been able to solve: years ago, someone cast twin curses on him that killed off his apprentices and drove away loved ones who heard him speak, leaving him bereft and isolated. But he’s not quite alone: As Al works to solve this mystery, his friends draw him into their own eccentric dramas.

Why is everyone so frustratingly incompetent
Revisado: 09-06-24
Ok. I’ll give you that convincing people, much less cops, that ghosts exist is impossible, but holy cow this has been an inception of comedies of error. Only at no time has it been funny. In cozy mysteries, the “investigator” is smart and learns things over time, but literally no one is smart or learn things that aren’t outright told to them. Dang. Just. Dang.

Even as a girl Morgan has always been wild, like the seas which batter the cliffs beneath her home, Tintagel Castle. But she has always been safe, too. Then one day her father is called away to a war from which he does not return. In his place comes the High King, Uther Pendragon, with the sorcerer Merlin lurking in his wake. Historia
Isobel Avery’s first six months as an undercover poison taster haven’t exactly been easy. But this week will be worse. Two people with nothing in common are found dead. Apparently poisoned by an artificial intelligence security system. Now Izzy needs to find out whether robots are taking over the world or if there's a geeky murderer on the loose. Oh, and she also needs to juggle the demands of her personal life - playing along with Etta's latest deception, rehoming a mysteriously acquired stray dog, cheering up her mopey housemate, and helping Harper cut ties with her boyfriend.

Historia
Being an undercover poison taster for the rich and famous is hard enough without being dragged into clearing the name of your former nemesis.... Especially when you think he might be guilty. To make matters worse, Izzy and her elderly accomplice aren't the only ones digging into the murder case, and the other parties are a whole lot more dangerous. And if her old nemesis didn't do it, then the real killer won't appreciate their interference.

Historia
Being an undercover poison taster for the rich and famous might sound glamorous, but for Isobel Avery it means stomaching bad clients and even worse coffee. The one side of the job that lives up to expectations is the money. Which is just as well for Izzy, since she needs an awful lot of it. Who knew when she made a lifelong commitment to a man that it would be one year living with him and the rest of her life paying for it?

Get out of my head!!
Revisado: 02-04-22
Hearne knows exactly who his target audience is, and that is me. Hearne, if you’re reading this, know that this hit exactly my sense of humor and all the geeky and human topics I care about. I hate that I have to wait the few days for my credit to renew so I can read the next book. The Iron Druid series was a bit intimidating to get into first but this one was a wonderful introduction to this marvelous author.
Yes Daniels is an American doing several foreign accents but he performs it with such character that it was thoroughly entertaining. Sorry to the naive accent purists but I had a lot of fun with his performance. It was like sitting in on fantastic long form theatre.
