Historia
Florence, South Carolina 1944: Lieutenant Raymond Sellers bids farewell to his brother Jimmie, the weight of what lies ahead hanging heavy in the air. The brothers have always been inseparable—Raymond, the steady protector, Jimmie, the wild-hearted dreamer. But as Raymond embraces his pregnant wife Evelyn one last time, war is about to test the bonds of family in ways they never imagined. As a summer storm shakes the windows, Evelyn brings her baby into a world at war.

Importance of friends and family in this WWII story!
Revisado: 02-28-25
I love WWII fiction, and What the Silent Say did not disappoint. It's based on a true story, which makes me appreciate the story and the author even more. The characters were so real to me, and I dearly love a few of them. I just wanted to hug Evelyn and pray for the soldiers. There were definitely some teary moments. Highly recommended!
This light-hearted moment was one of my favorites:
Evelyn: "I'm not marrying anybody just because there's a war on "
Rosie: "Evelyn Noble, that is the most unpatriotic thing I've heard anybody say. Think of it as doing your part for the war effort."
***
Evelyn: "And which boy are you going to marry to do your part?"
Rosie: "I'd marry more than one if I could."
I listened to the audiobook, which is well done.

Clean romance with action and suspense!
Revisado: 03-29-24
What a beautiful and exciting story! I haven't read any of the previous books in this series, but I want to now! I appreciate clean, Christian romance. The Resolute is that plus action and suspense. Full of amazing characters who have flaws, then growth, forgiveness and redemption, I recommend this book!
I received this audiobook from the author. This is my honest review.

Beautiful character-driven story
Revisado: 03-18-24
Radiance of the Moon fulfills my love of a character-driven story, with characters who
are willing to admit their faults, be redeemed, show personal growth, and treat others justly. These are some of the reasons I read Christian fiction. As far as the audio goes, the narrator has a strong brogue, but I adjusted to it quickly. If I had read this book, it wouldn't have been nearly as rich and immersive in my English reading. I highly recommend the audiobook!

Heartbreaking and Beautiful story of friendship
Revisado: 03-05-24
Such a heartbreaking and beautiful story of friendship in unexpected places and overcoming prejudice and ignorance. The split timeline was easy to follow because Frankie was telling her own story from years before. The narration was well done. I am lightly comparing this to The Extraordinary Deaths of Mrs. Kip in that they both show us how we can learn a lot from an elderly Christian woman. Their love and wisdom is priceless.
