Historia
What makes a good life? The question is inherent to the human condition, asked by people across generations, professions, and social classes, and addressed by all schools of philosophy and religions. This search for meaning, as Yale faculty Miroslav Volf, Matthew Croasmun, and Ryan McAnnally-Linz argue, is at the crux of a crisis that is facing Western culture, a crisis that, they propose, can be ameliorated by searching, in one’s own life, for the underlying truth.

So thought provoking, and challenging

Very easy to listen to, Kelly is a great narrator. The broad overview of many perspectives on what matters most was helpful, As a Spiritual Director it’s good to understand what might work into a persons already formed spirituality in a helpful way. I now need a hard copy of the book to underline the many profound statements I loved!

I love Ann on a podcast, or reading a hard copy of her book… but she doesn’t have good cadence for reading the audible version of her books. I hope she will hire someone to read them in the future, it really affects my ability to enjoy it.

Historia
How God is described today strikes many as mean, primitive, backwards, illogical, tribal, and at odds with the frontiers of science. At the same time, many intuitively feel a sense of reverence and awe in the world. Can we find a new way to talk about God? Pastor and New York Times best-selling author Rob Bell shows how traditional ideas have grown stale and dysfunctional and reveals a new path for how to return vitality and vibrancy to how we understand God.

Love this book!
Revisado: 04-20-17
I've listened to the audio version of this book multiple times. I keep trying to find the ways it may lead people astray or is heretical as many christians imply.
The more I listen to it, as I also journey with God to discover the larger more beautiful story he's creating and inviting us into... the more I resonate with this telling of the overall draw, pull, invitation to everyone. This is not a book of theology, doctrine, or dogma. It is a large scope, expansive introduction to holistic faith and living. Understanding God as a good and three unique persons who we can join in discovering ALL God wants for us. Why would anyone not desire this God... this kind of relationship that completes our humanity by watching Jesus is his incarnate revelation? Sin?? It's not being receptive to how this beautiful message will change us, and the life of eternity we can start now, not when we die. Rob does not shy away from stating the truth that we're all broken and that's a central reason we do need God. But it's a compelling invitation, not fear that gets that message through. This book makes me desire God more than almost any other I've ever read.
