Historia
"No killing Goblins." So reads the sign outside of The Wandering Inn, a small building run by a young woman named Erin Solstice. She serves pasta with sausage, blue fruit juice, and dead acid flies on request. And she comes from another world. Ours. It's a bad day when Erin finds herself transported to a fantastical world and nearly gets eaten by a Dragon. She doesn't belong in a place where monster attacks are a fact of life, and where Humans are one species among many. But she must adapt to her new life. Or die.

Can't deal with the overly dramatic narrator
Revisado: 10-06-24
I think the story is good and would probably be more interesting as an e-book because I can't deal with Andrea Parsneau. This is the 2nd book she's narrated that I've tried to listen to and just can't get past how she over eggs the pudding. I re-read the first book I had bought with Andrea as the narrator as an ebook and loved it. I'm hoping that happens with this book as well because I love the premise. Sorry to those of you that love Andrea, but I...just...can't...

Some genres were never meant to cross. Joe Slade is a detective with a hot lead and a warm gun. He no longer believes in happy ever afters, but his faith in plot twists is devout. Good thing. He is about to discover the biggest twist of all. Joe Slade is not real. He is a character in a series of mystery novels. And when he discovers all his pain has been in the name of book sales, there will be hell to pay. Vowing revenge on his author, he will set off for the World Where the Books Are Written.

Great story but terrible narrator
Revisado: 08-19-23
I bought the audiobook after starting the Kindle version so I could listen while I worked. However, the narrator doesn't do different voices, even for the female characters, so it was really hard to know who was talking. Also, he had some issues pronouncing some words like cauterized, groggily and starry. Nothing major but I expected better. I'll be finishing it on my Kindle and not Audible :(

Historia
In August of 1914, the British ship Endurance set sail for the South Atlantic. In October 1915, still half a continent away from its intended base, the ship was trapped, then crushed in the ice. For five months, Sir Ernest Shackleton and his men, drifting on ice packs, were castaways in one of the most savage regions of the world. Lansing describes how the men survived a 1,000-mile voyage in an open boat across the stormiest ocean on the globe and an overland trek through forbidding glaciers and mountains.

Highly recommend to everyone. Funny, appalling and heroic all at once. Amazing courage, skill and humanism among a diverse group of adventurers.
