What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

The main character is a Marty Stu of epic proportions. I don't think I've ever read a book where the main character was less flawed. Every man is jealous of his good looks and skills, every woman he encounters immediately fantasize about him. The writing is puerile.

What could Kel Kade have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

He needs to mature as a writer.

What does Nick Podehl bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Podehl does excellent work, especially with female voices. They actually sound like women, as opposed to a man trying to sound like a woman.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I think there is potential in the setting, and the character really could have been compelling. I got this book because it seemed highly rated on goodreads.

If you could sum up Blue Moon Rising in three words, what would they be?

I wasn't expecting much from this book, but it really was good. It did get a tad predictable at times, but it was fun and well written/performed. I chose this book on a whim, and I"m glad I did.

What other book might you compare Blue Moon Rising to and why?

There is a bit of a Pratchett feel to the books.

Which character – as performed by John Keating – was your favorite?

Unicorn.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Naw, its too long...but I did listen to it for several hours in one sitting.

Would you consider the audio edition of Caine’s Law to be better than the print version?

Not really, but Rudniki does phenomenal

What other book might you compare Caine’s Law to and why?

Caine's Law is so much unlike anything I've ever read, even Stover's other stuff.

Have you listened to any of Stefan Rudnicki’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. He delivers stellar voice acting consistently

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

Oh yes. There wasn't many pages where I didn't go "HOLY COW!" but Caine's speech to the BOG is really good. Also, the Mockingbird question.

Would you listen to Heroes Die again? Why?

Yes, this is one of my favorite novels, but I have less time to read these days.

What other book might you compare Heroes Die to and why?

Nothing really compares to HD. Stover's writing style is unequalled

What about Stefan Rudnicki’s performance did you like?

Rudnicki brought this story to life.

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I did have an extreme reaction. At times I just felt so involved in the story that I forgot where I was.

Would you consider the audio edition of Blade of Tyshalle to be better than the print version?

I was first introduced to Matthew Stover over ten years ago, by reading his Star Wars novels. I decided that I'd take a leap and read his Acts of Caine, and they have all rocked my world.

He is hard hitting, intelligent, violent and profane. Caine is one of the best characters ever created, and i am interested in everything he does.

Rudnicki has delivered another rock solid performance, but Stover's writing would shine through the worst delivery. Its just awesome.

What other book might you compare Blade of Tyshalle to and why?

There is no comparison.

Which character – as performed by Stefan Rudnicki – was your favorite?

Caine

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

No, its too long

Any additional comments?

Stover rocks.
