Not a legal thriller.
Revisado: 11-05-16
Yes, the main character is a lawyer but he was almost never in the courtroom. it was a thriller but I was looking for whodunit in the courtroom.

The worst!
Revisado: 07-14-15
What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?
a different narrator and different author and different story and if I had totally lost my mind
Has The Bone Collector turned you off from other books in this genre?
no but it sure came close
Would you be willing to try another one of Connor O'Brien’s performances?
H**** NO and luckily they must have canned him because there are no other books narrated by him.
What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?
totally amazed that this got a 2 star by anybody let alone a 5 star.
Any additional comments?
I'd like to talk to someone that gave this more than 3 stars. I don't understand how. Maybe I could understand the thinking behind it. As it is I wouldn't even try the book. (How can someone slam a cab door and not realize until an hour later that the cab didn't have door handles or locks) Come on!!! That's just bad writing.

Good, but too long
Revisado: 05-22-15
I skipped a lot about Wisconsin. He would get a suspenseful storyline and poof! goes back in time that was boring. I didn't get the connection until the end. when I did, my thought was "so what?"
Scott Brick again saved the book. He could narrate the dictionary and I'd buy it.

An innocent man is about to be executed. Only a guilty man can save him. Travis Boyette is such a man. In 1998, in the small East Texas city of Sloan, he abducted, raped, and strangled a popular high-school cheerleader. He buried her body so that it would never be found, then watched in amazement as police and prosecutors arrested and convicted Donté Drumm, a local football star, and marched him off to death row.

I don't get it.
Revisado: 11-06-14
What was most disappointing about John Grisham’s story?
This was not a thriller nor a mystery, nor spent much time in the courtroom.
Have you listened to any of Scott Sowers’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
No, I haven't but he was pretty good. the only good thing about the book
You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?
I can't think of any.
Any additional comments?
I don't understand why or what the point of this book. He portrays lawyers, judges, politicians, etc as extremely stupid, gullible, and/or extremely corrupt. This so unbelievable. This is almost comedic. This is simply seems like a text book on how NOT to run a legal system and how NOT to write a thriller, mystery, or suspense novel.
