Historia
Dr. Jamison is one of the foremost authorities on manic-depressive (bipolar) illness; she has also experienced it firsthand. For even while she was pursuing her career in academic medicine, Jamison found herself succumbing to the same exhilarating highs and catastrophic depressions that afflicted many of her patients, as her disorder launched her into ruinous spending sprees, episodes of violence, and an attempted suicide.

Gave me a better understanding of my best friend
Revisado: 12-09-21
I listened to this to get a better understanding of the mind of one of my best friends. While a little daunting, getting a glimpse of his world will help me in talking to him, so that he has someone to talk with that isn't his psychiatrist.
This was phenomenally educational in a way that made me feel like I wasn't listening to a lecture.

Historia
When Minalan the Spellmonger was exiled from his beloved mageland of Sevendor by Prince Tavard, his friend Duke Anguin made him Count Palatine of the Magelaw, a vast realm in the Alshari Wilderlands that Minalan is all too familiar with. After the goblin invasion, the province is devastated, ruined, and peopled almost only by freed slaves. But Minalan has brought his recovering wife and family into exile with him, and he views their impoverished fief as an opportunity to build a new City of Magi in the wilderness.

Continued Excellent Worldbuilding
Revisado: 09-09-20
For most series, this would be a filler book following something as action-packed as Necromancer, and it is definitely a slower pace, but Mancour delivers an excellent perspective on civic development with the paired urgency of an impending threat. And part of the threat still comes knocking at the door making this a must listen to see how the magical developments continue to impact this world.

Historia
Build. Evolve. Conquer. The dawn of the Troll Nation has begun.... Roark von Graf - former noble and hedge-mage, current mid-level mob in a MMORPG - has taken down the dungeon Lord of the Cruel Citadel, but the battle has only started. Lowen, right hand to the Tyrant King, has come to Hearthworld, and he is building an army of his own. Worse, Lowen and company have taken over one of the most powerful dungeons in the game, The Vault of the Radiant Shield. Even as a Jotnar and a newly minted Dungeon Lord, Roark is supremely outclassed and he bloody well knows it.

Just Fun
Revisado: 09-17-19
Excellent continuation of the story with characters that actually feel real. I love how this story keeps taking predictable routes (because it's natural for it to be the next step) in unpredictable ways. If they did something else it wouldn't feel right.

Incredible Worldbuilding
Revisado: 05-22-19
This was such a novel storytelling style; I’ve never dealt much with time skipping in novels, but this was expertly done. Enough information while worldbuilding for you to understand the system at a basic level, but not overexplained to the point of boredom. I found myself immersed in this world, wanting to visit, explore, and adventure. The character development over the course of the book felt natural with compelling protagonists who not only had to work hard, but also had interesting rationale behind their decisions, and distasteful antagonists I couldn’t wait to find overthrown.
The narration was top notch. I sometimes cringe when there is more than one performer, but this was seamless and exceptional.
Could not stop listening. Really tried to slow down since this is the only one currently released. Now I must sit and wait (very impatiently) for the next one.

Historia
The goblin invasion is on...and a wizard's work is never done! After facing a hopeless siege, an implacable foe, and an impossible escape, you would think that Minalan the Spellmonger would be able to rest - but the armies of the undead goblin shaman Shereul (known as the Dead God to his human victims) are rolling over the Western reaches of the rustic Duchy of Alshar and is headed toward the heart of the Duchy of Castal. Thousands are fleeing for their lives as hordes of goblins pour out of Boval Vale and devastate the rugged fiefs of the Alshari Wilderlands.

Not stellar editing
Revisado: 06-12-18
I actually think the author did a good job writing the story but a better editor would have taken it from good to great. A rare occurrence. Too many times were things repeated or dragged on for no apparent reason. Other than that the story was great and I really enjoyed it.

Great Concept, Better Writing
Revisado: 04-10-18
I love books with interesting concepts and does this series ever deliver. Love the characters and how they interpret their situations and realistic reactions to those situations as well as other characters. Roger Wayne kills this performance.

I like this series more and more with each book.
Revisado: 01-18-18
The character interactions seem very genuine and the banter is hilarious! Can't stop listening. In all honesty some of the status updates become monotonous as they get slightly repetitive but then it gets back to the story and something funny, awesome, and/or unexpected happens and the book once again has my undivided attention.

A fun listen
Revisado: 01-04-18
If you enjoy discussing how you're progressing in an RPG with your friends then give this a listen. The character interactions seem genuine and the plot moves well. Few elements of The Land seem very unique to an RPG but as the story moves there seems to be more digression from common RPG elements. My money has been well spent on this series.
