Historia
Beckett: If you’re reading this, well, you know the last-letter drill. You made it. I didn’t. Get off the guilt train, because I know if there was any chance you could have saved me, you would have. I need one thing from you: get out of the army and get to Telluride. My little sister Ella’s raising the twins alone. She’s too independent and won’t accept help easily, but she has lost our grandmother, our parents, and now me. It’s too much for anyone to endure. And here’s the kicker: there’s something else you don’t know that’s tearing her family apart.

I haven’t cried over a book in a while! I love the voice of Teddy Hamilton, he has a sexy brooding male voice. The book is an emotional roller coaster. A love story, spicy romance, hardships, family, cancer, death and enduring love. If you’re looking for a tear jerker this is the audiobook!!

Wow! The best audio book!
Revisado: 02-22-24
Wow! One of the best books I have read in a while! One of those books you think about when you are not reading, this book even crept into my dreams. I had various emotions reading the book, happiness, laughter, anger, and anguish. The Women took me on a journey of the women who served in the Vietnam War, mostly nurses in the makeshift hospitals, and the unbreakable bond of friendship. It painted a picture of the past and all the ugly truths that came with it. It is a remarkable book about the horrors of war and living with the trauma afterward. Listen to the book, share the book, and learn about American history. My husband & I took our sons to see the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in person a few years ago in DC and it had so many names of those who served and sacrificed their life. A generation lost.

Historia
Anna Vere has escaped to the Cotswolds for Christmas to try to heal from her broken engagement and, far worse, her broken dreams. When her reserved room at a bed-and-breakfast is flooded, she takes up the offer of camping out in Willoughby Close, the converted stables of the nearby manor house...and is taken under the wing of sexy local carpenter Colin Heath. What starts out as merely helping a neighbor in need turns into far more as Colin and Anna share a surprisingly intense and emotional connection, weaving their own Christmas magic as they spend the holiday together.

Perfect Fall book!
Revisado: 10-24-22
I loved this book!! The writing is almost lyrical, it weaves a beautiful story with colors and words intertwined. It is a historical fiction novel based on how Nathaniel Hawthorne could’ve come up with the idea to write the book The Scarlet Letter. It’s a blend of historical women as well as the Salem Witch Trials, magic, slavery, needlework, domesticity and survival in the late 1800’s. I listened to the audiobook of Hester, which was beautifully narrated by the ever-excellent Saskia Maarleveld. Perfect Fall read!

And while there are cracks beginning to show in Acapulco because of the drug cartels, her life is, by and large, fairly comfortable. A compelling story!
Revisado: 02-15-20
I just finished this book. The author is of Puerto Rican descent and married to an immigrant. She explains she was compelled to write about the many voices of regular people who are migrants to create a pause to help people see them as human beings. She spent 4 years researching and traveling to learn more about their story. It’s a story of hardships and triumphs over conflict. I felt it was a very good book and it makes me wonder what I would do if my entire world collapse around me. Bravo for the author sharing her strong feelings and writing a compelling novel. I’m glad I listened to the audiobook to create my own opinion and to understand all migrants have a story to tell on how and why they are here in America. Including my husband who immigrated to America for a better life!
