Historia
He was born an outsider, like the rest of his family. Poor yet resilient, he lives in the shadows with his aunt Libby and uncle Darren, folk who stubbornly make their way in a society that does not understand or want them. They are mongrels, mixed blood, neither this nor that. The boy at the center of Mongrels must decide if he belongs on the road with his aunt and uncle or if he fits with the people on the other side of the tracks.

Hillbilly simulation
Revisado: 11-18-24
it's not the author's fault I didn't like it. Was suggested this from someone that said it's a good horror book.
might just be... but I can't listen to hillbilly life simulator with werewolves sprinkled in. Wish she would have told me, so I wouldn't have wasted the credit. x.x

Doctor Spice
Revisado: 10-24-24
Oh, this is a cute little rom-com...oohmywaitno... Okay, so it's like 90% spicy. like one of those spicy videos, only acted better between spice scenes. There are still a LOT of spice. Just when you think there is going to be more to the story, they throw spice on the pages.
I wouldn't recommend this book to anyone that is looking for actual story. I mean, there might be some, but it's overshadowed ay all the darn spice.
but hey, if you're looking to squirm, then have at. This will deff make you blush.

Wonderfully written.
Revisado: 02-14-24
This book kept me enthralled, and so wonderfully entertained. I have always loved the concept of vampires, even those that aren't the typical European kinds. Reading about the ones not usually represented is quite refreshing, and I highly recommend this to any potential readers.

This is pointless filler
Revisado: 12-29-23
All but three hours of this book is literally filler. nothing but a toxic romance, where the main character admits openly that its easier to be in the useless and honesty boring relationship, than face her responsibility.
the only interesting part of this book was the unknown island and everything after.
I had to fight to get through it, the whole time actually loathing the main character, and just when she gets her head out of her tail, the book ends.
I'll read the next, but I hope the Author is done with the useless filler bull. So far it seems it would have been better as a two part, than a trilogy. You learn little other than some semantics in this one.

Very slow to get started
Revisado: 09-23-22
Overall it was an OK read, but honestly it took a long time to get to the meat of the story, and even then it was kind of slow paced all in all.
the "climax" of the story takes so long to get to, and its presented in a means where honestly it wasn't really climatic.
if you're looking for a book that will hook you in amd keep you wanting more, this isn't it. its a nice read, but honestly it doesn't get interesting til the last 3 chapters.

Trash. Who can fathom.
Revisado: 04-07-22
I started listening to this today, and so far, I want to delete it. Its like listening to a "dumb blond joke" who was turned into a vampire. honestly wouldn't have been shocked if one of her unaliving attempts was a scratch and sniff sticker in a pool, its THAT bad.
Honestly, if I wasn't at work, without internet access, I would have deleted it and got my money back.
The voice actor's voice is too darn accurate to the blond joke trope.

Be ready to be angry.
Revisado: 12-29-21
For the story, all I could think was "why is this being allowed to happen". The main characters have been parentified, these kids keep being told "We will be here to help" and continue, time after time to be abandoned, and any moment there is a bit of hope for them, it gets ripped to shreds, like the lining of a bird cage, to be crapped upon...
The author continues her trope of "They love eachother but it cannot be". Time after time, I wished I had the book so I could throw it without chance of damaging my phone...
The book needs warnings. There are so many triggers for anyone that has lived through abuse and abandonment. Any child that was told "The cops are there to help" and then get told by the cops "You're lieing, they didn't do that"...
The voice of the reader is calming, a bit too calming for the subject matter he reads. Great voice, but easy to get drowsy listening to. It's a nice voice, but would have been better reading something less traumatic.
All in all, this book would better have been named: Let's watch these kids go through mental trauma!
I will admit, I keep reading on, Hoping that these poor kids finally get a happy ending, then.... ugh. I'm not a violent person, but as a survivor of all the main forms of abuse, (yes, ALL...) this book touches way to close to home, and just makes me feel like its not worth it anymore... which is not what one would want.
If you ever had to go through abuse... avoid this book, for your own mental health.

Harry Potter fanfic
Revisado: 12-03-21
Ok. Not to do spoilers, but if you ever read Harry Potter, well, that is this. Only rebranded of sorts.
its Harry Potter, only instead of wizards, they are vampires, also throw some Wicca-for-newbies mixed in, rather than the fake magic Harry Potter has.
I will give the book this: It has a bit of lgbtq+ inclusion, as well as some cultural positivity, which is honestly awesome to see. It also got the witchcraft right for the most part, again awesome to see, though the sheer focus alot of time of Sl-- shaming in many chunks of the story was not a welcome sight, and had no place being stitched in with the craft.

If you like a Mary Sue, this book is for you.
Revisado: 11-16-21
It honestly felt as though I were listening to a really bad fan-f***. The main focus was clearly the... physical relationships, rather than story building. A lot of the features and limitations given to the main "blond, white, tiny spitfire" trope main character are sprung on you as though an afterthought rather than important.
I give the reader points, because it takes guts to read that and not laugh. I had a hard time not laughing listening.
