Steamy, action packed 5 Star listen.
Revisado: 07-05-20
Sexy, action packed and intriguing. This book is set in a future where 95% of the people who are attacked by a deadly chemical bomb are killed, while the rare 5% who are immune, get turned into Metahumans. AKA humans with powers.
In the Wreckage gives me X-Men meets A-Team vibes. 😍
Usually I find myself gravitating towards the steamy scenes or the action/plot of any book but the way Hailey Turner has seamlessly woven this story together, kept me on the edge and devouring EVERY Word!
One thing that took me by surprise was the hot insta-lust in the book. (No, not insta-love...) The two main characters are wildly attracted to each other, especially after a one night stand. The romance and lust between Jamie and Kyle might seem fast but for good reason. When lives are on the line it pushes these two to value the unique chemistry that is between them and into a forbidden romance. Plus there light D/s roles are hot af.
Another thing that took me by surprise was the military aspect. I don't usually gravitate towards Scifi Military Romance, but because this is set in the future and revolves around the Metahuman Defense Force, I was loving it! The strong team bond between the main characters felt more like an undying loyalty between family and was truely inspiring.
Plot: 5/5
Worldbuilding: 5/5
Audiobook Narration: 5/5
(I listened to this book at 1.25x - 1.5x speed and loved it. Greg is definitely a new narrator favorite.)

Historia
You can’t bargain with death if you’ve already sold your soul. Special agent Patrick Collins has been reassigned by the supernatural operations agency to New York City. Navigating his new relationship with Jonothon de Vere, the werewolf he’s now soulbound to, is nothing compared to dealing with territorial disputes between the vampires and werecreatures who call the five boroughs home. But the delicate treaties that have kept the preternatural world in check are fraying at the edges, and the fallout is spilling into the mundane world.

Damn what a ride. Love the story and narrator!
Revisado: 06-04-20
Book 2 was just as intense and intriguing as the first book.
One of the main things I enjoy most about this series (besides how hot Jono and Patrick are) is the worldbuilding. I love all the references to different mythologies, paranormal beings and deities.
I also ejoyed the fact that Patrick and Jono are still learning about the boundaries of their relationship. What it means, what they mean to each other and how to navigate it given the dynamics of pack and the events that unfolded at the end of book 1.
I already bought audiobook 3 because I am dying to read/listen to more. I'm also intrigued because I have a new favorite character... he is a pizza stealing, snack hoarding cutie, that I can't wait to learn more about in the next book.

When the gods come calling, you don’t get to say no. Patrick Collins is three years into a career as a special agent for the Supernatural Operations Agency when the gods come calling to collect a soul debt he owes them. An immortal has gone missing in New York City and bodies are showing up in the wake of demon-led ritual killings that Patrick recognizes all too easily from his nightmares.

Intriguing, heart-pounding and sexy.
Revisado: 05-16-20
A Ferry of Bones & Gold was the perfect mixture of magic, myth and originality. I was beyond excited to start reading this book, but once I started, I was blown away by worldbuilding and the complexity of the magic in this story. It was well thought out and already has me yearning for more stories in this world.
I was expecting shifters and demons in this Urban Fantasy but was thrilled with the appearance of certain Greek gods and goddesses. (Hermes is my favorite!) I also can't wait to see how the other patheons come into play.
The main characters were both so intriguing and sexy as hell. Like Patrick, I lusted after Jono immediately! (And oh boy, if you are an audiobook fan, the narrator's accent for Jono is hot hot hot.) Patrick is so bad ass but also closed off and a little damaged from his past, while Jono is a lonely shifter who doesnt realize he is searching for a pack.
As we discover who the villains are, and who to trust, we are also piecing together the puzzle of Patrick's past. All this while rooting for the Patrick and Jono to find their way together.
I'm so excited for book 2, and I hope the romance between the two characters increase, because I NEED MORE. Oh and did I mention the steamy sences in this book are on point? Because they are. ;]
(listened to at 1.25x for personal preference.)

I thought I was done with romance, until a certain pompous elf reappeared in my life at the illustrious Monster Ball. A little teasing led to bruised lips and captured hearts. No one wants Jhaeros and me to be together, not even my favorite sister, Melarue. But she's a teenager just coming into her elemental powers and discovering boys - the wrong kind - the type I want to shoot arrows through.

Loved the prequel novella woven into the beginning
Revisado: 04-29-20
Damn what a ride. I was constantly trying to guess where this story was going and was surprised by how unpredictable it was!
I loved the prequel novella woven into the beginning. (The first 7 chapters are originally from the Monster's Ball prequel and helps set up Aerith's story....it also had a few of my favorite scenes.)
At first I just thought this was a romance between a Fae Prince and and Elf. Boy was I wrong.
The story is actually about three different females and their POVs as they maneuver between the Fae and Elven realms. Each of them have their own love interests and all three males have bits and pieces I love about each of them.
I would love to see more of Jhaeros and his dark passion he displayed at the Monster's Ball (not just his proper persona he shows to the public) ....more of Liri's seductive ways and hopefully in the next book we will get to see more of Prince Ryo... don't worry I liked Devdan too.
This book had some dark humor, adventure, action, quotable lines, a dash of steam, romance and some cheeseball sayings that had me spitting my drink laughing. I'm intrigued to see where book 2 will lead.
I listened to this book with my friend and we are immediately jumping into book 2.

Amazing Retelling of Medusa
Revisado: 05-21-19
I absolutely loved this short retelling of Medusa. I enjoyed the almost modern day feel and atmosphere of the school. Hearing Medusa's story told like this had me emotional, rooting for her and Perseus as a couple and wanting to seek revenge on those who wronged her. I was so absorbed in this story that I was sad when it came to an end. But the good news is I loved the way it was written so much that now I am dying to read Ali Winters' other work.

Great twist on a Paranormal Romance.
Revisado: 05-20-19
This book was a lot of fun. I was excited to see that the main character was part Asian like me. Cass is hilarious. The fact that he is a hot pink imp in booty shorts... loved it. Brock was a sexy, dominate, alpha male and genuinely seemed like a good guy. There were a few twists I did not see coming at all so I was happy that it caught me off gaurd. I am also curious to see how Brock and Evie handle this situation in the next book. Oh and that ending... cliffhanger. But a good one.
I actually had the pleasure of listening to the audiobook and loved it. The narrator had the perfect witty and sarcastic tone for Evie and I just laughed anytime she read Cass's lines. (Listened at my favoirte 1.25x speed)
Recommend to anyone who is a Paranormal Romance reader that loves wolves but looking for some fun and original twists!

Despite being an art history student, Summer isn’t thrilled to be stuck with her archeologist family all summer in Greece. While the rest of her college friends are posting a million selfies by the pool together, Summer is stuck alone, trying to entertain herself alone in a place where she doesn’t even speak the language. Upon her arrival to Greece, strange dreams and even stranger shadows seem to haunt Summer, leaving her to ponder the meaning of pomegranate seeds and twisted, darkened faces.

A beautifully woven retelling. ALL THE STARS
Revisado: 05-13-19
Blinding Night is a beautifully woven fantasy retelling of Hades and Persephone. (My favorite) As a big fan of both retellings and Greek mythology... I can easily say Chantal Gadoury has captured my heart and is now in my auto-buy author list. (Seriously Chantal write all the retellings!!)
I adored Summer, she is a little spitfire that had me laughing and smirking because she is definitely my type of main character: relatable, funny, and well developed.
I can't wait to read (or listen to) more of Chantal's version of the Underworld, her swoon worthy Hades, and the breathtaking imagery that was created in this book.
Highly Recommend to those searching for a good modern day retelling or for those who want a good fantasy romance.
I have the Audiobook and ebook and desperately need the physical copy in my life.

Zane Phillips mistook me for his dog walker. It shouldn’t surprise me that the man with a suit more expensive than my rent would assume that I was there to serve him. The positive? I put him in his place. The negative? I missed my job interview because of it. Now I find out he’s a rich Australian entrepreneur, and he wants to make up for tanking my interview. Yes, he’s impossibly hot - but he’s also an arrogant jackass - so...no thanks. But after a little white lie I tell spirals out of control, I’m somehow offered the chance to play Zane’s girlfriend to help promote his new dating website....

I absolutely loved everything about this story! Zane had me swooning at every moment and Harlow had me laughing every other moment. She was such a relatable character. I genuinely hope the author publishes the physical copy soon because I definitely need this book in my life! Although the narrator's were absolute perfection. I couldn't have been happier with the cast they chose! I love their voices so much that I will definitely look for more of their work.

Revisado: 10-12-16
Omg. This story. I loved every moment of this YA romance. It was exactly what I needed to get out of a reading slump.
Not to mention it has the exact elements of my favorite type of romance.
Action, magic, cute and swoon worthy scenes, a mean girl villan, great world building and complex yet realistic characters. I have sooo many positive things to say about this book but don't want to spoil anything. 5 million stars.
I bought both the book and audible version. I would listen to this book on the way to and from work (45mins each way) The narrator was amazing. I love it when the narrator is so good it sounds more like a movie vs. someone reading to you.
