I’ll be thinking about this book for awhile
Revisado: 06-10-19
This is an awesome listen! Explores both the single focused vision people with longtime goals can have, and the potential for disasters that come with this mindset. Terrifying and inspirational at the same time!

Historia
Beyond the Martial Empire and within it, the threat of war looms ever larger. Helene Aquilla, the Blood Shrike, is desperate to protect her sister's life and the lives of everyone in the Empire. But she knows that danger lurks on all sides: Emperor Marcus, haunted by his past, grows increasingly unstable and violent while Keris Veturia, the ruthless Commandant, capitalizes on the Emperor's volatility to grow her own power - regardless of the carnage she leaves in her path.

Historia
In this surprising, scary, entertaining audiobook, Kerr puts her expertise to the test. Not merely content to observe others' fear, she confronts it in the form of things like skydiving, paranormal investigations, and a visit to Japan's infamous "suicide forest." In her willingness to explore the world's scariest attractions, Kerr shows why we seek out terror even when there is plenty to fear in everyday life.

Very interesting but too long
Revisado: 07-04-16
I did learn a lot from this book and much of it was very interesting. However, there were parts that were bogged down by the author's own thoughts, some of which were relevant, others which were not. It's an OK read if you are interested in the psychology of fear!
