Historia
Fleeing from a vengeful king has sent the former NPCs across Solium's borders, into the kingdom of Alcatham. As wanted fugitives, they head to the small farming village of Briarwillow, hoping to blend in, lay low, and avoid trouble at all costs. Unfortunately, Briarwillow has problems all its own, and its troubles quickly become theirs. If they hope to survive long enough to escape, they'll have to tackle an all-but-forgotten mystery buried at the town's border as well as seek the wisdom of a mysterious group of mages.

A wonderful expansion of this duel-world setting.
Revisado: 04-30-25
Hayes expands the setting of both worlds in this second novel of SS&S. This book shows more of the Adventurers world as our main cast expands their skills and settle into their new roles, all while expanding the real world cast of "players" explores it with the reader.
Wayne, the narrator, knocks it out of the park again, giving each character their own voice and making them feel even more real.

Historia
What happens when the haggling is done and the shops are closed? When the quest has been given, the steeds saddled, and the adventurers are off to their next encounter? They keep the world running, the food cooked, and the horses shoed, yet what adventurer has ever spared a thought or concern for the Non-Player Characters? In the town of Maplebark, four such NPCs settle in for a night of actively ignoring the adventurers drinking in the tavern when things go quickly and fatally awry.

Great twist in the D&D genre of Novel
Revisado: 04-28-25
Drew Hayes knocks it out of the park with the beginning of another great series. This story can stand on it's own, but lets the reader into a MUCH wider world of magic and adventure. the narrator does a wonderful job with the characters, making it feel like a full cast recording.

Historia
Not every danger comes in the form of a mega-threat like a Titan. Some predators are a lot cozier...more personal. When one such creature threatens an independent tutor, Harry Dresden must shake off the blood and dirt of his most recent battles and rise to the occasion, even when it turns out that the new predator is far more dangerous and connected than first appearances would suggest.

A great short to entertain untill Twelve Months.
Revisado: 04-17-25
It's fun to hear Butcher read for Dresden is this novella showing how Chicago is doing in the aftermath of a Titan attack. The story is an enjoyable urban fantasy that holds up on it's own, but is helped if you're familiar with the series. by the same token, if you enjoy this romp then you will DEFINITELY enjoy the massive series it lives within.
It whets the appetite of those waiting for the next book in the series.

Historia
For generations, nobles have gathered at a scenic estate once per year to compete. What transpires there is spoken of only in rumors, save for the prizes. Potent, powerful, and precious; the winners are said to receive a gift from magic itself. Reeling after their loss to Kalzidar, the adventurers from Maplebark can only press forward, following advice imparted by the gods. Their divine directions will lead them on a series of twisting paths, branching between old friends and new challenges, before ultimately pointing at a particular estate on a specific evening.

Revisado: 08-29-22
A great novel and a wonderful expansion of the author's Spells Swords and Stealth series. Easy to enjoy even if you haven't read the previous books, but the deep lore explodes in this 5th novel in a wonderfully fun series about former NPCs becoming adventurers.

Steampunk at its absolute best!
Revisado: 06-23-22
FOOTNOTE - even better than the amazing Girl Genius comics, which is HIGH praise! The "footnote" style allows the writers to indulge in hilarious world-building, while also preventng new readers from getting bogged down or confused by previous events.
Weather you've read every frame of the comic, or are completely unfamiliar, this series is WONDERFUL!

Great narrator for the Series and she portrays the protagonist, as well as all the other distinct characters, perfectly.

I can not praise this book enough. It's a perfect mix of fun, suspense, mystery, and Noir drama!

Historia
The year is 1876. Warring Indian tribes still populate America's western territories, even as lawless gold-rush towns begin to mark the landscape. In much of the country, it is still illegal to espouse evolution. Against this backdrop two monomaniacal paleontologists pillage the Wild West, hunting for dinosaur fossils while surveilling, deceiving, and sabotaging each other in a rivalry that will come to be known as the Bone Wars.

Historia
Over the course of a 30-year career, Eddie Izzard has proven himself to be a creative chameleon, inhabiting the stage and film and television screens with an unbelievable fervor. Born in Yemen and raised in Ireland, Wales, and postwar England, he lost his mother at the age of six. In his teens he dropped out of university and took to the streets of London as part of a two-man escape act; when his partner went on vacation, Izzard kept busy by inventing a one-man act, and thus a career was ignited.

Eddie at his finest and truest
Revisado: 02-15-19
I'm generally skeptical when an author reads their own audiobook, but Eddie is AMAZING from start to finish. You get EXTRA foot notes in the audiobook, because he goes off on tangents. This makes an already insite-filled book even better. I love Eddie's philosophy and his story, and no one can do more justice to it then the person themself.
