This story is very formulaic. I could predict much of it well in advance. There aren't any real surprises. Although it certainly isn't without violence, there's less than in the previous books in this series. More time is spent on actual survival, something I appreciate in this genre. The characters are rather flat and insubstantial, although Matthew E. Berry performs them quite well. This is a fairly uninspired post-apocalyptic novel.

This is a well researched and thorough account of nearly inconceivable crimes, updated with current details that bring closure to this case. And Lee Ann Howlett's narration is excellent.

This is an overly contrived, totally unrealistic detective mystery which is not improved any by the lackluster performance of Michael Harrity. Although he makes an effort to voice characters distinctly, his accents sound phony and his female character voices are too quiet and do not always fit the character. The story is just suspenseful enough to keep one listening.

This book picks up the story begun in Erupting Trouble, and continues with the contrived and illogical actions and behaviors of the characters. Moreover, some of the characters suddenly know things they shouldn't be aware of yet.

Matthew E. Berry makes an effort to give distinctive voices to the characters, but I was surprised to hear a few mispronounced words. All this makes it pretty difficult to really get into the story.

There's really nothing to criticize about this story. It's well-paced and suspenseful. Both plot and characters are believable. And Jennifer Pickens performs flawlessly. Thankfully, the story comes to a satisfactory conclusion with no cliffhanger. It's a great start to a promising series.

Nick's story continues, updating us on his life in rural Ireland, in his humble, self-deprecating style and easy-going humor.

Andy Stevenson stands in competently and consistently as Nick's voice in this fourth audiobook of the series. It makes for a very entertaining and enjoyable listen.

This is an unusual memoir in that it doesn't gloss over uncomfortable details nor does it bend to conventional thinking. It's straight forward and sincere.

And Margo Brialis adds real authenticity with her incredible performance. She voices characters distinctly and very appropriately. This is truly an unforgettable memoir.

This story is like all the others in this genre. It's a tired, old plot with underdeveloped, mostly unlikable characters and no real substance to the storey. Worst of all, it's unfinished.

Matthew E. Berry performs well enough, but there's no way I can recommend a book that is incomplete.

This is the continuation of the story begun in book 1. It's a little more believable than the previous story, but far from totally realistic. However, it's a good story and quite entertaining, albeit quite wordy at times, with reasonably compelling characters. And Sheila Daly Payson performs well, although more distinctive voicing of the characters would have been helpful in following some of the dialog. The story concludes quite nicely.

Although some of the events described in this story may be historically accurate and the people real, the actions, thoughts and dialog attributed to them are totally unrealistic. It's a real stretch to believe things actually happened in this way. This story seems more romantic fantasy than historical fiction.

Alex Lee's performance is quite acceptable. She doesn't make a lot of distinction between character voices, but most dialog is clear enough to follow.

This story lacks character development, but that may be because not a lot is known about the personalities of these people. Still, a better feel for the times would certainly be appreciated.
