Bought and listened to several of his books, hoping they would get better but they did not. A rehash of others ideas - don't bother.

Historia
Neuroscientists and cognitive scientists have made enormous strides in understanding the brain and how we learn, but little of that insight has filtered down to the way teachers teach. Uncommon Sense Teaching applies this research to the classroom for teachers, parents, and anyone interested in improving education.

A book for primary school teachers or primary grade level learning/teaching. Focused toward teachers more than self learners.
Revisado: 01-04-25
This book is focused primarily for k-6 or k-8. you can use it with older students - if they have very poor learning habits or you are a new or frustrated teacher - but be advised - it's a SLOG to get through. Personally - for teens or adult learners - I highly recommend BOTH "Make it Stick" for all adult, mature, or self teaching learners and "How we Learn" - for those that want to understand and extrapolate to their unique situations or personal struggles. How We Learn is a long slow start - but for those truly motivated the science presented really backs up the applications. I listened to all on Audible. (Nurse, Nurse Instructor - ADN & BSN Level-Retired, life long learner).

Historia
Early in her career, Kelly Turner, PhD, a researcher, lecturer, and counselor in Integrative Oncology, was shocked to discover that no one was studying episodes of radical remission, when people recover against all odds without the help of conventional medicine, or after conventional medicine has failed. She was so fascinated by this kind of remission that she spent eight years travelling through 10 countries to learn what factors that people experiencing this phenomenon encountered.

Biased to plant based
Revisado: 08-21-24
There are some amazing stories of cancer remission, however this book misses some key stories given its heavy biase toward plant based eating. The biase is not surprising for a vegan health writer, but surprising for a PHD. The reading and presentation are fine.

Historia
Can what you eat determine how long, and how well, you live? The clinically proven answer is yes, and The Longevity Diet is easier to follow than you'd think. The culmination of 25 years of research on aging, nutrition, and disease across the globe, this unique program lays out a simple solution to living to a healthy old age through nutrition. The key is combining the healthy everyday eating plan the audiobook outlines, with the scientifically engineered fasting-mimicking diet, or FMD.

Skip this book & get Obesity Code by J. Fung MD
Revisado: 11-23-22
If you are new to fasting and eating for your health, this is an OK first book. If you have already been reading and learning - skip this book. this book sells their products - and makes the gross assumption that no one else writes or reads about this information. Better Money - Go to Jason Fung MD - he Gives away the knowledge, explains how, and has VERY SPECIFIC YouTube video's about how to make it work for you. IMF - Intermittent fasting - WORKS. this book, ~ was free w/ my audible account - skimmed it and moved on. The narration is - inauthentic.
1st - author wastes TONS of time getting to the point, then never Really gets to the point. Lots of anecdotes from around the world, lots of personal history, but no solid outline for the individual.
2nd - the meal plan is -ok. just ok. Better would be to provide a clear path: % of - proteins / fats (and types)/ carbs (types) and be specific. by body type/ ht/wt. Hours to eat, recommendations for altering for specific needs. Instead - you get a few (poor quality) recipes and the general idea.

In spite of its battlefield specificity, The Art of War has found new life in the modern age, with leaders in fields as wide and far-reaching as world politics, human psychology, and corporate strategy finding valuable insight in its timeworn words.

Historia
Plenty of experts argue that anyone who wants to develop a skill, play an instrument, or lead their field should start early, focus intensely, and rack up as many hours of deliberate practice as possible. But a closer look at research on the world’s top performers shows that early specialization is the exception, not the rule. David Epstein examined the world’s most successful athletes, artists, musicians, inventors, forecasters and scientists. He discovered that in most fields—especially those that are complex and unpredictable—generalists, not specialists, are primed to excel.

Interesting and important perspective. Not all new info , but collected and compared in a new way. A balance to the tiger mom thought process. The voice and cadence were good, enjoyable listen. A little repetitive at times if you frequent this genre.

Just don't. Get "Michel Thomas" instead.
Revisado: 08-05-21
A very poor remake of the classic by Michel Thomas. Dont waste your time. the concept is good - the delivery is painful. You will get the same from My Thomas and it's not as hard to listen to. In addition if you are serious about learning French - this book misses an opportunity to give basic and key Grammer guidance or explination. In some places - it's just wrong - I want my credit back.

Historia
Sleep is one of the most important but least understood aspects of our life, wellness, and longevity. Until very recently, science had no answer to the question of why we sleep, or what good it served, or why we suffer such devastating health consequences when we don't sleep. Compared to the other basic drives in life - eating, drinking, and reproducing - the purpose of sleep remained elusive.
