I'm sure this book is great, but would be better read as opposed to the audio format. I found it too hard to follow, with too much jumping back and forth. finally 18hrs in, I gave up.

A Brilliant Intro

I have the other books in this series, and love them. So much so that I have them on both Kindle and Audible. I'm also tempted to buy them for my analogue book collection too.
So when this prequel novella came along, buying it was a no brainer. It doesn't disappoint. So regardless of whether or not you have read the series to date or are just discovering this book as an intro, do yourself a favour and listen to it. The narration is impeccable, and compliments the story no end. The story could stand alone without this and still be brilliant, and I cannot recommend this book enough. Buy it. you'll be glad you did!

tl;dr - listen to this as Michael and Tim have again excelled at his craft and done a brilliant job on this book.

Audio Issues

It's cheap because the audio is rubbish. It skips, jumps, repeats and sounds like a scratched record at least a dozen times.

If you can live with that buy it. Personally I'd suggest putting your credits into the books separately.

Sheer Brilliance

Once again Mr Hamilton has peoduced an absolute cracker! The changes in tempo roll on like a concerto, and the narrator makes these work perfectly.
In short: A brilliant story wonderfully narrated. A must listen.

What a ride!

Who will win? Who will lose? Will anyone survive? The only way to know is to get listening.

This is a superb finalisation of the trilogy, despite my apathy towards a book 2 that I thought could have been better. Absolutely worth listening to.

Poetry in Motion

The White Tower sequel follows the first without the author feeling the need to continually rehash the story from the first book. Add to that, the narration by Tim Gerard Reynolds, and you have an audiobook that is all killer, no filler.

Bring on the 3rd instalment!
