Not as exciting as I hoped
Revisado: 04-17-25
There was potential but ultimately the story lacked much action or excitement. The narrator may have made it lacking by never changing her tone.

Historia
Eve Hatch lives for surprises! Just kidding. She expects every tomorrow to be pretty much the same as today. She loves her cozy apartment in Brooklyn that’s close to her childhood best friend Willa, and far from her midwestern, traditional family who has never really understood her. While her job is only dream-adjacent, it’s comfortable and steady. She always knows what to expect from her life . . . until she finds herself expecting after an uncharacteristic one-night stand.

Cute story but…
Revisado: 07-22-24
This was a cute story but the way the narrator played the main character nearly ruined it. Nothing seemed heartfelt. I’m a big fan of this author and this book would have been more enjoyable to read than listen to.

I listed to this authors books before and have never been disappointed. This story was riveting right from the beginning. I wasn’t sure how the story would play out in the end. It was a good mystery that I thoroughly enjoyed

Mostly loved it
Revisado: 04-01-24
I was skeptical but ended up liking the characters and the sweet little dog. The drink mix recipes at the begging of each chapter got to be annoying though. The story was unpredictable yet the way the main characters were treated was frustrating at times. I enjoyed it enough to recommend and may check out the authors other books.

Historia
In the spring of 1903, locomotive 311, known as the Majestic, carried more than one hundred passengers toward a tunnel through the underbelly of the Canadian Rockies. But then the mouth of the tunnel swallowed the 311 whole, and the train—and everyone on it—was never seen again. Seven years later, a gang of cattle thieves and cutthroats wait on horseback for a train car full of railway cash—a payroll they intend to steal. What they will discover, however, is that the approaching train isn’t the 5409. It’s the missing 311, a train only whispered about around dying campfires.

Historia
Few know the warship’s actual name. But everyone has heard the rumors. The PUV James Keeling can do something no other vessel in existence can do—slip into another dimension, travel undetected, then re-emerge onto our plane and surprise enemy targets. But the thing that makes the Crypt unique also makes it a nightmare for those onboard; interdimensional travel causes hallucinations, violent behavior, and psychotic breakdowns. Keeling could be the Union’s greatest weapon, a game-changing asset that can defeat the bloodthirsty zealots of the Purist Nation, the Union’s mortal enemy.

Not what the description indicates
Revisado: 10-14-23
I though the story would be more science fiction about the ship and the dimension it could travel in, but it just turned out to be a story about soldiers and battle. There was very little explanation of the what the ship was, the dimension it could go to, and why it had a impact on the mental state of the crew.
There were many lines a teenage boy would find hilarious but not so appealing to an adult science fiction fan.

Historia
Everyone is going to die. Soon. The whole of humanity sits on the precipice of total annihilation by plague. That’s some heavy shit right there. If 99 percent of the population dies, that leaves one percent grieving, scared, desperate, capable of anything, plunged into an apocalypse without laws, and no one to enforce them anyway, where there are no rules but one: might makes right.

As mentioned in other reviews it was short and left a cliffhanger. It was good and left me wanting more, I may get the next story in the printer version.
