On the evening of Sofia Claremont's seventeenth birthday, she is sucked into a nightmare from which she cannot wake. A quiet evening walk along a beach brings her face to face with a dangerous pale creature that craves much more than her blood. She is kidnapped to The Shade, an enchanted island where the sun is eternally forbidden to shine. An island uncharted by any map and ruled by the most powerful vampire coven on the planet. The story was not predictable as many in the past have been of the genre. I enjoyed hearing about Sophia and her past, as well as the different connections of family within the vampire world. Can’t wait to listen to book 2!

A different coming of age story
Revisado: 04-02-17
Fire in Frost is a different coming of age story. We meet Crystal Frost, a young girl just trying to navigate through high school unscathed. Crystal is getting ready for one of her last volleyball games when she sees something that is just not possible. On top of that, she actually has a physical reaction because of it! No one else has the same experience and she ends up putting herself in a bad situation with her friends and some of her classmates.
Crystal then learns that there is more to this experience from her mom, and she is now set on a new life path forever. Has she learned enough fast enough to make a difference?
I love the narration, Kim Reiko is able to capture the essence of Crystal and her struggle though all of the changes in her life.
Crystal has a lot to learn about her gift and he also has a lot to learn about who to trust! Fire in Frost is a very interesting and engaging story. I am excited to see where her gifts take her!

You will not want to stop listening to this one!
Revisado: 03-08-17
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
I absolutely would suggest that this book be moved to the top of your to do list! From the very start until the last word, I found myself drawn into the story of Zachary and Emma. Zach's grit and determination to be the best, Emma's selfless nature and love for all around her... You would think that he would crush her with his purpose. However this is not necessarily the case! I love that they are each able to balance one another out, and that their journey not only changes their outlook on eternity, but also those around them. Everyone wants a love like that, to stand the test of time and to be a beacon of change or hope. In Zach and Emma's case however, neither one was looking for it, nor did they really want it and for that reason, it's all the more precious!
What other book might you compare Inspiration to and why?
I can't really say that I have read another book like Inspiration. I don't like to compare books to one another. I personally love to read each book as its own entity, and take it for what it is. I do like that there are connections to religion and the drive of nearly all in the story to become someone new - be that good or bad.
Which scene was your favorite?
POSSIBLE SPOILER ALERT......I will try to be vague here.
My favorite part of Inspiration would have to be at the very end, when all of the house mates are attempting to work together for a common goal. But in reality.... several people are working in secret unbeknownst to the rest. There is mystery, confusion, drama, pain, fear, love, excitement.... all in the span of a couple of chapters. It was very exhilarating.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! There wasn't a moment that I truly felt was a good stopping point. The story wanted to be told, and I was as usual - angry when real life got in the way and I had to stop for a little while.

Fast Paced and Realistic
Revisado: 03-02-17
Would you consider the audio edition of The Chemist to be better than the print version?
I love both print and audio versions of this story. I love the narrator in general. She does a great job really bringing the story to life.
Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?
I was riveted from the very first words. Our three main characters are all from different walks of life and they sure do act like it when they are around each other!
What about Ellen Archer’s performance did you like?
Ellen Archer has a way with relating to all the characters and helping you dive into the story.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely! I didn't want to stop! Work did get in the way a couple of times though!

Excellent Retelling of an Old Tale
Revisado: 03-01-17
We have all read and heard the stories of Peter Pan. We have even seen some glimpses of Captain Hook's origin... However, I guarantee you, you have NEVER heard of a tale as intriguing as Hooks' Little Mermaid! I was literally drawn in from the very beginning!
James Darcy has a way with telling this story that you can just see at all playing out in front of you! Listening to him read the female character dialog, he did such a good job! I didn't feel as though it was a guy trying to be a girl, nor did he sound like a girl... He was just so good as presenting it, everything just was! It flowed seamlessly!
Suzanna Lynn has retold a story that has been done countless times, and she has still managed to make this story new! I knew Captain Hook lost his hand to a crocodile, I knew he had a feud with Peter Pan. Yet this book, made me sit on the edge of my seat. This book, made me want to finish in one setting. This book, made me fall for Captain Hook.
Well played Ms. Lynn. Well played indeed!

I had high hopes
Revisado: 03-01-17
I wanted to like this story.
It's a short listen, however the first two chapters are just pure data dumps.
The narrator is rather robotic and completely non believable as other characters.
The story premise is fantastic, and for that reason I hung in there. However I did not enjoy this audio book.

Madelyn is a kick-ass heroine!
Revisado: 02-28-17
What made the experience of listening to The Guardians the most enjoyable?
I loved the banter between Madelyn and the rest of the characters. The nymphs were especially humorous!
Who was your favorite character and why?
Madelyn is a kick-ass heroine and I am excited to read more about her in the books to come. I love that she is humble, but not wimpy. She is strong, and yet vulnerable. Madelyn is smart, and oh so snarky. I love the snark!
Excellent start to a series!
How did the narrator detract from the book?
While some parts are ok, I just truly felt like I was listening to Siri read me a story. The delivery of certain phrases just felt forced, and emotionless. While others were delivered with great emotion and inflection. I think the worst part was the inconsistency. It was a large detractor to the story for me.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
Absolutely. I was angry when my life got in the way. Who needs things like sleep?!

I salvage what they cannot. I'm on the FBI's wanted list. I have a werewolf for a pet, a Witch of a best friend, and no need for anyone else in my life. Flawless!
Revisado: 02-10-17
If you could sum up A Rylee Adamson Omnibus in three words, what would they be?
Fan-Freaking-Tastic!
What was one of the most memorable moments of A Rylee Adamson Omnibus?
I loved every part about this set! I only wish I had bought more at a time, as I hated having to stop!
Have you listened to any of Emma Galvin’s other performances before? How does this one compare?
I have listened Emma Galvin before when she read Firstlife from Everlife Series, by Gena Showalter. I love the way that she engages the reader, and she has an amazing way of bringing a depth to each and every different character.
Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?
All of the parts that included Alex really stuck out to me. I have now incorporated Yeppie-doody to my daily verbiage LOL
Any additional comments?
Rylee Adamson is a tracker, and this leads her down many different paths that cross into the oaths of just about every supernatural you can think of! Some are good, and some are bad!
I really liked how Rylee is good of heart, she knows what she is and she sticks to it with no pretense. Her humor is flawless, and her delivery for subtlety is non-existent, perfect!
I highly suggest this series to everyone!

Excellent follow up
Revisado: 05-15-16
This was an excellent follow-up to book number one!
We join Mira and her friends in the wilderness as they find the way to Sanctuary. We find that she and Lucian are still on rough terms and then enter in Striker! Talk about a monkey wrench...
Striker is a wolf and he is other kin and Mira is taken aback! There are struggles to find a new balance between her human friends and her supernatural family. When she finds that she has no place in either land, she's got to make a tough decision when the humans come looking she really has a hard time deciding what the right thing is to do especially when people are manipulating her mind.
Once Mira figures out what she really wants to do in her spirit, she sets out to do it and come hell or high water she will make sure that it happens!
Salidas has written an excellent follow-up to book one I very excited to see what happens with Mira and her friends and all of her new family. Especially to see how Mira reacts to all of the new feelings that she has now that she's no longer trapped but fighting for her freedom to stay intact.
Due to physical violence suggested for mature readers.

Love this series!!
Revisado: 03-01-16
I read this book some time ago, and have just now had the opportunity to listen to this audio book version.
As you read a book, in your mind you add the inflections and accents you would envision the author to have used. In this audio book I felt that I was so way off! Listening to this was as reading a completely different story, a better one than I had imagined. I was laughing so hard at the performance of Olivia. She's such a heifer! To hear that performed so perfectly was amazing!!
Here is also my original review of the story itself-
You always read the stories where the vampires are the top of the chain, alpha in existence... well this series shows how the vampires are now held captive, forced to fight in gladiator matches most often times to the death- all for the fun of humans.
Mira is one of the best- if not the best and she is determined to break free!
She makes an unlikely friend in this book and things get interesting!
It's exactly what you think might happen if the end of the world were to come and the vampires are caught in a bad way!
Get yours TODAY and see what trouble Mira's sassy attitude gets her in!
