The choice of the text Esau chose for his father’s service was so profound and filled with Grace. He saw hard work and dedication to a truthful eulogy of his father shows respect for concerned and grieving in this story. The story of Esau’s life in Alabama is heartbreaking and yet full of the power of faith and the courage of his mother.

Historia
It is the height of summer, and Armand and Reine-Marie Gamache are celebrating their wedding anniversary at Manoir Bellechasse, an isolated, luxurious inn not far from the village of Three Pines. But they're not alone. The Finney family - rich, cultured, and respectable - has also arrived for a celebration of their own. The beautiful Manoir Bellechasse might be surrounded by nature, but there is something unnatural looming.

Historia
Spring, 1909, and Lady Hardcastle, amateur sleuth and all-round eccentric, is enjoying a well-deserved rest. But a week after a trip to the cattle market, Spencer Caradine, a local farmer, turns up dead in the pub, face-down in his beef and mushroom pie. Once again, it is up to Lady Hardcastle and her maid, Florence, to solve the case. Armed with wit and whimsy, not to mention Florence’s mean right hook, the pair set out to discover what really happened and why. Was it poison or just ill luck?

Refreshing Mystery
Revisado: 03-31-24
T E Kinsey is the best author for those of us who enjoy a “Who Done It” with levity. A steady diet of serious murder mysteries can be depressing, but not if the author is Kinsey. Thank you for satisfying our love for this genre without taking us to the depths of darkness!

Historia
In this audiobook, the author of Seven Gothic Tales gives a true account of her life on her plantation in Kenya. She tells with classic simplicity of the ways of the country and the natives; of the beauty of the Ngong Hills and coffee trees in blossom; of her guests, from the Prince of Wales to Knudsen, the old charcoal burner, who visited her; of primitive festivals; of big game that were her near neighbors - lions, rhinos, elephants, zebras, buffaloes; and of Lulu, the little gazelle who came to live with her, unbelievably ladylike and beautiful.

Understanding and respect for culture
Revisado: 02-16-24
This is a wonderful book. I loved the story, the understanding and respect of the East African Culture, and the realization of all we can learn from them. I did not like the narrator as much as the Narrator in the earlier, “Out Of Africa”, but did get used to her.

Perfect for fans of The Keeper of Lost Things and The Villa in Italy. Blue lives a charmed life. From her family's townhouse in Richmond, she lives a life of luxury and couldn't want for anything - well, on the surface at least. Then, on the night of her 21st birthday, her father makes a startling toast: he will give his daughter's hand to whichever man can capture her heart best in the form of a love letter. But Blue has other ideas, and, unwilling to play at her father's bewildering games, she sets out on her own path to find her own destiny....

Three diverse stories
Revisado: 11-26-23
I usually prefer novels of a later. But I love this one from the 1920s. All three of the main women were so different but Tracy made it easy to keep all the stories and characters straight even though the stories were entertwined. Very powerful stories. And the performance was tremendous.

March 1817: As winter turns to spring, Jane Austen’s health is in slow decline, and threatens to cease progress on her latest manuscript. But when her nephew Edward brings chilling news of a death at his former school, Winchester College, not even her debilitating ailment can keep Jane from seeking out the truth. Arthur Prendergast, a senior pupil at the prestigious all-boys’ boarding school, has been found dead in a culvert near the schoolgrounds—and in the pocket of his drenched waistcoat is an incriminating note penned by the young William Heathcote, the son of Jane’s dear friend Elizabeth.

In Uncomfortable Conversations With a Black Man, Acho takes on all the questions, large and small, insensitive and taboo, many white Americans are afraid to ask—yet which all Americans need the answers to, now more than ever.

Thank You!
Revisado: 10-07-23
Thank you for giving me answers to questions I knew I had and didn’t know I had but didn’t have anyone to ask. I’ve been told I shouldn’t ask these questions of Black people because they’ve had to do all the hard work of learning how to live the way they do. Far bit from me from wanting to add insult to injury. And I especially want to thank you for making it so clear that race is a word that was created and racism is a system that was created by people wanting to establish power and answer any guilt they may have for owning slaves. As soon as I found that out, I quit using the word. And I don’t answer culture of questions called race questions, ethnicity questions on any surveys I take. If they would ask me culture, I would be glad to answer that. But I don’t want to propagate the term. I hope that’s not equivalent in your mind to saying I’m colorblind, which I no longer say either. Thank you again!
